Bio

  • B.R.E (born Breana Griffin: 23 December 1993, in Brooklyn, New York) is an African-American lyricist-rapper-poet-songwriter mostly known for her poetry/rap Hip-Hop and R&B inspired music. She lived most of her life in New York City, attending Hillcrest High School where she majored in Humanities. However, in 2010, she discovered her music ability during her membership of the club Music & Lyrics led by Spencer Washington. Inspired, B.R.E decided to start performing at venues such as the Nuyorican Poet's Cafe, the Afrikan Poetry Theatre, and local Open Mics around New York City. While attending Utica College in 2011, studying Psychology and Creative Writing, she joined Open Moments (poetry-based club) where she could practice freedom of expression. Two years later she took on a leadership role as president of Open Moments inspiring others to write and perform. During her presidency, while still having love for poetry, she decided to focus more on rapping. However, her music today incorporates both themes respectively. In 2014, she released her first Mixtape called "Make A Wish" where she displayed high levels of eroticism, metaphors, and lyricism while telling her story. Today, B.R.E is collaborating with other artists, releasing music, and promoting her album Word of Mouth (2016) released on April 15th, 2016.
