LYLE HENDERSON PERFORMS FOR 15TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR AT"44TH ANNUAL NEW ORLEANS JAZZ & HERITAGE FESTIVAL" THURSDAY, MAY 2, 2013 with Legendary
Grammy Winner, Melvin Williams

New Orleans, LA – (April 12, 2013) – Presented by Shell, this year’s festival welcomes its beloved act, Lyle Henderson and his soulful sounds. Lyle is now considered a “staple” of the annual festival and will be joined with special guest, Grammy Award Winner, Melvin Williams of the Legendary Blackberry Records Artist, The Williams Brothers.
Thus far, Lyle’s year has been eventful to say the least, with his Super Bowl XLVII performance in New Orleans. On April 16th Lyle Henderson & Emmanu-El performed at Loyola University's Founder’s Fest not to mention the summer roster, which includes performances at La Roux’s Mothers Day Brunch & Patterson City “ Patterson Festival”.
Currently, Lyle is in the midst of promoting his new single "Expectations” which is due for release on iTunes this summer; Additionally, he is celebrating his 23rd anniversary as a radio broadcaster.
About Lyle Henderson:
Lyle began his broadcasting career as an R&B DJ on New Orleans' based FM98 and simultaneously 5 years as a Gospel radio announcer in 1988 on WYLD Radio. His voice has remained in the New Orleans Gospel community on various voice overs. He has been a member of the GMWA Gospel Announcers' Guild and a member of the New Orleans Chapter for 25 years. In 2007, he joined the DJ staff of Crescent City Radio, the online radio station owned by Loyola University New Orleans. He is host & producer of “The World of Gospel” – a Wednesday Gospel music show online, with a rapidly growing audience.

Stellar Award Nominee, LyleE.Henderson began singing when he was 5 years old, on a chair, in front of a national church convention audience at a General Assembly of THE CHURCH OF THE LIVING GOD. Since Then he has performed with such Gospel greats as the late O'Landa Draper, Edwin Hawkins Music & Arts Seminar recording choir, Trin-i-tee-5-7, Earnest Pugh, The Mississippi Mass Choir, New Orleans Gospel Soul Children, to name a few...
He has also performed with such Jazz greats as Terence Blanchard, Jubilant Sykes, Davell Crawford, & Marva Wright.
Lyle began a career briefly as an R&B DJ on New Orleans' based FM98 and simultaneously 5 years as a Gospel radio announcer in 1988 on WYLD Radio. He has been a member of the GMWA Gospel Announcers' Guild and a member of the New Orleans Chapter for 22 years.

Since 1998, Lyle Henderson & Emmanu-EL have been a regular attraction in the Gospel Tent at the world acclaimed Louisiana Jazz & Heritage Festival in New Orleans.

Lyle Henderson & Emmanu-EL have traveled to Italy 4 times for a multi-city Italian tour, including performances at the world famous Umbria Jazz Festival. Lyle has also performed in various cities in Switzerland, Canada, Jamaica, and countless cities throughout the USA. In 2001, members of the Louisiana and New Orleans media began to dub him as the NEW ORLEANS PRINCE OF GOSPEL.

In 2008, Lyle was commissioned by the Disney Animation Film Company to produce and Gospelize a Randy Newman song, called Dig A Little Deeper. Lyle and his special events singers, Pinnacle Gospel Choir, loaned their voices to 2 of the songs that will be featured in the 2009 release of The Princess and the Frog.
Having submitted to the disciplines of Journalism, Mass Communications, and Music Performance at Xavier University of Lousiana, Mr. Henderson is a vocalist, Worship & Praise Leader, Author, Editor, Ghostwriter, and Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
