In 2011, guitarist Phil Reeves and bassist Billy Asai formed Mad for Justice. Phil and Billy have been playing R&B/soul/funk together since 2009 with Soulshine ft Orlin. Mad for Justice took shape during several months of songwriting, rehearsals, and trying out various lineups of band members. What emerged is the powerhouse trio of Phil (guitar), Billy (bass), and Jon Weiswasser on drums. All three are experienced musicians on the NYC music scene with rock and funk groups. Fronting the band is 21-year-old vocal sensation Justice L from Brooklyn. Influences range from Red Hot Chili Peppers to Foo Fighters as well as classic soul, rock, and alternative. Mad for Justice began live performances at music venues in NYC in April 2012 to fantastic audience response!
