Lyrics

Mine (na na na)

Written By: Scott Meissner

Have you found what you’re looking for
Could it be the same thing that I need
Well she said, she said it’s gonna be alright
And I think that’s good advice for you and for me

[Chorus]
Well it’s gonna be alright, it’s gonna be fine
Won’t you come running and be all mine

Do you just a travel on, through your space
With no destination or ending place, in your mind
Is there any particular life, you want to lead
Or are you waiting on the burning bush, you know that, that magical sign

[Chorus]
Oh I can bring you everything, but you gotta be mine
Once you belong to love, it’s gonna be nice

[Chorus]
Yeah it’s gonna be better, as long as your mine
I’ll give you everything you’re needing, just give me a sign, baby come on now
Oh I’ve seen so many times before, people living in a lonely time
Just share your life with me baby, I gotta make you mine

Gonna be right?

Written By: Scott Meissner

Yeah I sat here wondering, for most of my time
Will I ever be the me I, see in my mind

Could I be wishing on a dried up well
I love living life but, sometimes its hell

Gotta find my dream, somewhere, somehow
Tomorrow’s just too late, it’s gotta be now

[Chorus]
Hold on, let me wonder
When’s the day we’re gonna be right
I know, it’s supposed to be simple
Lead me to where, it’s gonna be right

Holding on to a photograph, from a time I flew
Reaching back to the past, and a life that I knew

I’ve walked down the darkest streets, but I found the light
One man came and touched my hand, when the time was right

I watched from the side, too afraid to jump in
Well, this time it’s all mine, gonna fight to win

Joyride

Written By: Scott Meissner

They told me it was simple, this life
I keep on doing wrong, when I’m trying to make it right
It would be nice if I knew
That the path I’m strolling on, will lead me right to you

[Chorus]
I never wanna be alone, now that you’re here
I found you my best friend, won’t you hold my hand
Let’s go on a joyride, just the two of us now
I’m in Heaven just as long as you’re here with me

Well I’m hanging my laundry outside
My heart is showing for all to see and I washed away my pride
This could be my second chance
I told the world what I’m gonna do and I’m holding my stance

[Chorus]

[Break]
I see you shining; I’ll keep on trying this time
Climbing so high, feeling so fine, working my way back to you
I won’t hold back, I know I’m on the right track
Cause your there, your there, I see you waiting for me

Down

Written By: Scott Meissner

And it’s how everything goes
I try to watch out for the blows
Deep down an assertive mind
I can see that you may know just how I
Feel inside, hide the tears I cried
Someday maybe we may know why he died
In the middle of a broken time
Lord I hope we see the sign
Could it be you were a friend of me
Bored out hope out of a lonely tree
Helped a man to his feet again
Made it just in time, right before the end
Of something beautiful, majestic love
Holding tight is not enough
Closed hearts and evil minds
Made deception and the truth go blind

[Chorus]
We’re so close
I’m going down
I’m taking one last breath before I reach the ground
I’m going down
Won’t you help me fly

See the man in the Hollywood
Reaching high but the sky’s no good
Found himself in the closing scene
Way too soon on his hunt for green
A little lady likes her daily dose
Of food and water and a set of clothes
Hard times land on your dinner plate
D.C. promises but we can’t wait
A lot of leaders lack integrity
Claiming all is well and it’s thanks to me
Arrogance is a common trait where
Ignorance thinks it’s best to hate
One another we all hold on tight
To what we think is gonna make it right
Love our neighbor, teach our kids to pray
Ask my father for a brighter day

Shine on

Written By: Scott Meissner

[Verse 1]
They say you’re everywhere
Could you be right next to me
In a moment of despair
Will you show me how to see

I’ve been feeling lost for a while
One step forward and three steps back
Sometimes it’s hard to smile
Along the way I fell off the track, but I know

[Bridge 1]
Every door is open wide
It’s up to me to walk inside

[Verse 2]
Used to see you everyday
Moments I will always know
Somehow we always drift away
When there’s a love we can not show

Should’ve been listening to you all the time
In my heart I think I knew it well
You gave me glory when the pain was mine
You picked me up every time I fell

[Bridge 2]
You left the door open wide
It’s up to me to step inside

[Chorus]
Shine on - Little angel come back home
Shine on - I wonder what you think of me
Shine on - I see you way up in the sky
Shine on - Can you tell me what you see

We're America

Written By: Scott Meissner

They traveled so far and left behind all they knew
To reach the shores where every dream comes true
In view there’s a lady who holds a burning light
Tears of joy stream down at this wondress sight

A life of oppression now they have opportunity
Every spirit will shine o’re the land of free
In America

People have come together from every corner of the world
They gather in celebration as the flags unfurled
Humbled by the reason for every stripe and star
Amazed and thankful at how blessed we are

One dream at a time we’ve made our history
United we stand and own our liberty
In America

Oh the rockets red glare
The bombs bursting in air
Oh the home of the brave
I thank God for all they gave
For America

Honor and freedom shall stand the test of time
From all the heroes who laid their life on the line
With great inspiration we stand proud and true
A nation as one – red, white and blue
We’re America
