Bio

Margy Finnegan and Baron Kenneth Roth (AKA Kenny Bourbon) are a pair of dynamic and seasoned performers and songwriters who came together two years ago as freelance side players on another project. They discovered they had instant chemistry and began writing songs and performing sporatically together. Each driven by a wide range of influences, their aim is to offer a show at home in almost any venue and provide top-shelf quality entertainment to their quickly growing loyal fan base.

Margy's five octave voice dances effortlessly through sultry jazz, moaning blues, screaming rock, and playful pop. Her past experience includes performing with the bands Ten Penny, Squash, The Aether, and Michael K Band, among others. She's played many area venues including Nathan's (Enola), Three Pines (Mt Holly), The G-Man (Mechanicsburg and Enola), The Coach's Corner (now McGrath's), Snappers (Mechanicsburg), Bube's Brewery (Mount Joy), John and Peter's (New Hope) and Puck (Doylestown).

Kenny has spent the last ten years doing a lot of freelance gigs on both coasts. In Boston he played bass with Winterboy (Alan Winter, twice named Boston's Best Male Vocalist by Weekly Dig magazine) and appears on his album "The Moon Tower." Among various other projects he also played guitar and mandolin with the Bourbon Brother's Bluegrass Band (from which he held onto his stage name). In Cambridge he held a weekly residency at the All Asia Cafe where each show he aimed to provide a fresh and new musical experience for the happy hour crowd. While in New England he was also producer Jeffery Svatec's go-to funk guitar player for recording sessions appearing on radio ads for Starbucks and NyQuil and pro-demos for up-and-coming vocalists. He also composed a blues score working for Svatec for a Honda motorcycle comercial. After five years in Boston he migrated to the west coast to tour with Portland, Oregon groove-rock band Groundscore. Back in PA he continued working the odd freelance gigs while refining a solo act and hosting open mics and blues jam sessions. Over the course of his long musical journey he's had the honor of sharing the stage with jazz legends Joey DeFrancesco, Louis Belson, Rhamsey Lewis, and Jack McDuff. As a teen he was awarded the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award and the CPFJ annual scholarship in 1998. He studied film scoring, arranging, and modern compositional techniques at Berklee College of Music. Though he currently works primarily in pop genres, Roth is also an expert in 12-tone composition and a very skilled conductor. He has played at a range of area venues including Bube's, Suba, ABC, Mercados, Nathan's, The Chameleon, McCleary's, The Batdorf, various Lodges, Legions, and VFWs as either a hired-gun, a solo act, with Margy, or recently semi-regular gigs as bass player for the rowdy bar band The Dogs of Lust.

Together, Margy and Kenny are comitted to offering great music with exeptional performance. While in this early stage establishing themselves as a "band" in the local music scene their shows usually consist of an even half original/half cover repetoire, but as they hook more and more fans they will be tipping the scales for a largely original show.
