"Matt Palmer - Let Go - Review"

"I know I'm OBSCENELY late on this one, and I apologise wholeheartedly, but I'm glad that I finally got a chance to actually share my thoughts on one of the more promising R'n'B debuts of last year. Matt Palmer is a fantastic new R'n'B/Pop sensation, think early Craig David, and Let Go is his debut release. A fantastic collection of tracks, all infused with fantastic grooves and awesome beats, makes for a fantastic listen." - FABTASTIC! Music

"Matt Palmer wants you to Let Go"

"What makes [Matt Palmer] different from Jason DeRulo is his ability to lean more on his voice rather than just auto tune, and his lyrical content is classy and a great representation of musical maturity. I also like the fact that Matt has made his music clean enough for a 12 year old girl to listen to it as well as a 40 year old woman cleaning up her house and wants some cool music to do it to. That is what makes Matt priceless to me as an artist." - BAMA Blog

"Free Download: Matt Palmer – Let Go “CASSETTi Remix” and Bigger Than Love Mixtape"

"Hurrah for Matt Palmer and his silky smooth R’n’B pop vocals, as he has restored the joy back into EQ trax heart and mind after a mind-blowing week of dodging life’s curveballs."

"Just a day or two ago he set fly a debut album entitled “Let Go” that is totally worth your dollar and how do we know this? Well Matt’s spun out a tasty free mixtape featuring some of the albums highlights by way of some smokin remixes. Particular attention should be paid to “Diamond Love” & “Rain” if your into Jason Derulo, “Bigger Than Love” if your captivated by Usher and “Fall For You” or “Let Go” if you bigging up on Taio – (you know that R’n’B fella that I’m so obsessed with!)" - Electroqueer: Pop & Electronica Music Blog

"Introducing Matt Palmer"

"It has been a while since the music industry’s seen a singer and songwriter with unique musical talent as newcomer, Matt Palmer."

"[Matt's mixtape Bigger Than Love & his album Let Go] debut Matt’s originality and lyrical ability in a music industry that often churns out redundancy in Pop singers. But Matt is the exception, as he is the entire package of which has never been seen before." - Full Blast Magazine

"New Music: Matt Palmer - Lovesick"

"["Lovesick" is] an upbeat, fun and catchy track, instead of a sad, depressing song. In fact, it's like candy for the ears." - About.com

"Ne-YoFan.com"

"I’m a true R&B fan and when I first came across Matt’s music, like 6 months ago, I couldn’t help but do some research about him. I quickly found his MySpace where he uploaded all of music and then I knew this guy makes R&B that makes your mouth water." - Derwin (site owner)

"I Wish - Winner of Song Of The Month Contest"

“I Wish” is a very hooky, appealing uptempo cut, which is the vein of hit singles by Usher and Ne-Yo. It’s clear that Palmer has developed the ability to create very commercial pop/R&B songs which can be placed with major label artists. This recording of “I Wish” also showcases Palmer’s artist potential – he effectively performs all the vocals (lead & background) on this cut. And notably, Palmer played all the instruments on this demo, using his ProTools studio setup. - Dale Kawashima - SongwriterUnverse.com

"Mr. Pop & B"

"Rising star Matt Palmer integrates the fun, dance-worthy sound of pop with the heartfelt lyrics of R&B to create a fusion of the genres that is sure to please. An artist indeed, Palmer is not only a talented vocalist, but writes and produces music as well. Truly dedicated to his craft, he has honed his talents and continues to evolve. Through a distinct voice and musical aesthetic, Matt Palmer is sure to find his spot amongst his musical peers, which is already evident by his growing number of followers." - Diary of A Fresh Feen

"Toby Gad - "Big Girls Don't Cry" writer"

"I listened to your songs... 6 days and what I want are close to great... songwriting wise you're very talented..." - MySpace Message

1. Diamond Love
2. Let Go
3. Lovesick
4. Hold Onto My Hand

"The title track, “Let Go,” is undeniably a Matt Palmer effort, mixing an upbeat dance rhythm with honest, inspirational lyrics. Contrastingly, “Lovesick,” has a strong, contagious beat and attacks the listener with an aggressiveness that is surely not to be ignored by nightclub DJs. “Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover,” the only song on the album that is not written by Palmer, himself, exemplifies his versatility and creativity, providing a fresh R&B spin on a Sophie B. Hawkins’ classic."

The album is being licensed in Japan and re-released there this April through indie R&B label Manhattan Recordings. Manhattan has released albums by successful R&B singer-songwriters Lil Eddie, Jackie Boyz and Mya.

Bio

Matt Palmer is a Los Angeles-based R&B/Pop singer, songwriter, and producer. After graduating from NYU's selective Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, Matt's soaring melodies and heartfelt lyrics led to collaborations with some of music's most exciting producers and songwriters including Oak Felder (Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown), Fraser T. Smith (ADELE, Britney Spears), and the Jackie Boyz (Madonna, Justin Bieber). After several years of writing songs for artists like Big Time Rush and Leon Thomas, Matt is preparing to release a brand new, 7-song EP entitled Stranger Than Fiction.

While Matt Palmer has released two full-length albums via Japanese R&B label Manhattan Recordings, Stranger Than Fiction is Matt's first release an independent artist and an openly gay musician. The first single, the urban-pop track "Teardrops" produced by Drew Scotty (Fantasia, Dawn Richard), samples Taylor Swift's first single "Teardrops on My Guitar", and puts an adult spin on the teenage ode to unrequited love. In the music video, Matt is shown pining for the boy next door, and letting no barrier keep them apart.

The rest of Stranger Than Fiction finds an artist coming into his own by exploring genres and lyrical themes only hinted at in his previous work. From the radio-ready pop soul of "Break-Up" to the glittering EDM of "Whatever It Takes" to the broken down, piano and vocal only "Free", Stranger Than Fiction represents an artist discovering his voice without boundaries for the first time.

Stranger Than Fiction will be available in digital and physical formats on June 24 2014.
