Hi! My name is Melanie. I'm 21. I tend to replay moments in my head all the time. I smile... a lot, and I have an unhealthy addiction to hot chocolate. Oh, and I sing and write songs. I've written over 50 songs (not including the songs I wrote as a 4 year old about lions, puppies, and loving my mom and dad). Music always came easy to me. It was always there for me. Ever since I was little, I was always performing around my house, singing Sixteen Going on Seventeen from The Sound of Music (except I was 4 going on 5). My whole house was woken up by little me at 8am, singing my heart out in my crib. I would pretend interview myself in the mirror with a hairbrush in hand (and let's be honest, I still do). As you can imagine, I loved singing, performing, posing for the camera, and being creative.
When I was 14, I decided to teach myself the guitar, and really write songs. No more songs about puppies. This time, I was going to write songs as if they were out of my diary. Songs other people my age could relate to and enjoy. The real first song I ever wrote was One Day, which you can hear in the music section. I fell in love with writing songs and playing guitar. I opened a YouTube channel (melanieungar) and I was addicted. The music I was writing always had a country/pop feel to it, and that's what I've stuck with. I love the honesty of country, and the fun in pop.
One day I dream of singing in a huge stadium with the audience singing back to me the words that I wrote in my bedroom with my guitar in hand. I also dream of being on The Ellen Show - she's my absolute fave. I'm available anytime, k Ellen?
