Michael Addison is set to release his first full-length album “Blinding Shadows” on October 2nd, 2012. Reeling from the success he garnered from his last EP “Always You” and the single of the same name, he hit the studio with producer Larry Marciano at the helm, to create a truly powerful rock album that magnifies Addison’s talent for rock arrangements. Addison returned to the studio with the same team from his previous go-round. Christine Wu (Justin Timberlake/Usher) and Ryan Hoyle (Collective Soul), as well as newcomers, vocalist’s Adam Brooks (of TV’s “The Lying Game” and the band The Good Mad) and Vanessa Bryan each exhibit exceptional contributions.

The 13-tracks that make up “Blinding Shadows” are full of a raw hard-rock energy, intense vocals layered over building drums and invigorating electric guitar solos, leaving Addison in raw form with this heavy new direction. Addison tackles a huge sound with dedication and an ear for honesty. There is no doubt that “Blinding Shadows” pushes Addison to greater heights as an artist and songwriter, making this his best collection of songs to date!

“Blinding Shadows” is the debut full length album from solo rock artist Michael Addison. Following the success of previous release “Always You”, Addison is back once again to secure the support already being sent his way. Whilst he is lacking in band members to play the songs he clearly puts his heart and soul into, he makes up for with songwriting ability and talent. Who said it was necessary to have a band behind you anyway?

“Blinding Shadows” can only be described as a well-rounded, straight up rock album written by an artist with an ear for catchy songs. Album opener ‘Never Look Back’ is sure to have listeners humming along within seconds, as the refrain that gave the song its title is repeated continuously. It may drive some people crazy, but there is no denying that this is a sure fire way to make sure this song isn’t forgotten in a hurry.

“Catchy” seems to be the running theme throughout “Blind Shadows”. From ‘No Regret’, through ‘Tell Me Lies’ to the slower ‘Let Me Burn’, Addison is consistent in his approach to songwriting, determined to make sure these are thirteen songs no one will be forgetting in a hurry. This also shows off his incredible talent, and in more ways than one. In between humming your way through the album, you can’t help but notice just how diverse “Blinding Shadows” is. Ranging from sometimes quite heavy, classical sounding rock to acoustic numbers that wouldn’t sound out of place alongside some of the artists currently gracing our charts. One thing is for sure: Michael Addison is an artist that could turn his hand to anything, should he want to.

It can safely be said, then, that Michael Addison is a multi-talented artist who is proving to the world that you don’t need a band behind you to be a successful rock musician. Instead, all anyone needs is a guitar, a talented voice and an ear for what is good. June 22nd Event to Raise Money and Awareness for Music Education Organization

Los Angeles, CA (June 1, 2011) — LA recording artist Michael Addison will release his new CD, ALWAYS YOU (available on iTunes), and host his music video World Premiere, on Wednesday, June 22 at the famed Key Club in Hollywood. A portion of all ticket sales for the event will benefit Harmony Project, the Los Angeles-based non-profit that provides instruments and tuition-free group and private music lessons to thousands of the city’s most vulnerable children.
"Music is important to the healthy growth of all children, and many schools in the Greater Los Angeles Area have suffered cutbacks in their arts funding,” said Addison. "Through this event, I hope to increase awareness of Harmony Project’s award-winning program and raise money for the organization so that they can continue to provide low-income kids with tuition-free music education. I was amazed to see how much they do to keep kids safe, out of trouble, and in school through music."
"This is a terrific opportunity for us to expand our network of supporters, so that Harmony Project is no longer the best-kept secret in town,” said Harmony Project’s Executive Director Myka Miller. “We are so grateful to Michael for the opportunity to raise money, while celebrating the release of his new CD."
