Biography

OPPERA
A chance meeting at a castle in the south of France brought together these two individuals who comprise OPPERA.
MARTIKA: A Hollywood child from inception, Martika immediately took to the silver screen in the hit movie ‘ANNIE’, and never looked back. Performing as ‘Gloria’ on the hit children’s television show ‘Kids Incorporated’ (now a cult classic, spawning many other stars such as Mario Lopez, Stacey ‘Fergie’ Ferguson, Shanice Wilson, Jennifer Love Hewitt, etc.) catapulted Martika to the awareness of Columbia Records. In no time, Martika was out on the road touring and promoting her self-titled debut CD, which garnered several top ten hits, and the Billboard topping number one hit ‘Toy Soldiers’. 3 Million units, and many live appearances and videos later, Martika completed her second CD. ‘Martika’s Kitchen’, Co-Produced by Prince, went on to score even more success, and featured the haunting hit ‘Love, Thy Will Be Done’. Worldwide success, and the hectic schedule of constant travel and touring, led Martika to take a much needed, if lengthy sabbatical away from the music business. Staying out of the limelight, Martika has had time to reflect on her past success at such a young age, and has deepened her resolve to control her destiny in the music business. Vowing to never set foot in the studio until she found the right vehicle…………
MICHAEL MOZART: (No relation to Wolfgang Amadeus) A child prodigy, who began studying music at the age of three. A guitar virtuoso who began writing music at four years old, Mozart’s musical skill was almost silenced due to bone cancer at a very young age. Battling through the pain, Mozart practiced even harder, sometimes up to ten hours a day. These formative years, shaped Mozart into the tireless perfectionist that he has become today. Mozart’s talent was discovered by Sugar from the Ohio Players, and with the approval of his parents, Mozart was allowed to tour with this legendary R&B group (chaperoned of course) over the summer. Many shows later, Mozart’s skills drew much attention, and numerous opportunities arose from this endeavor. Touring, recording and performing with legendary musicians such as Dave Mason(Traffic), Leon Russell,Doc Severensin, Whitney Houston, Carole King,Ringo Starr, No Doubt,Shirley Murdock, Roger Troutman, Charlie Wilson, Steven Tyler(Aerosmith), Jefferson Starship,Vinnie Calliuta, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, and many more, Mozart has established himself as a premier musician,

Partnered together, Martika and Michael have turned their separate talents into the emotional and powerful energy that has become….OPPERA

Just Ride The Wave

----------------------------
You run for cover
Stick your head in the sand
You deny you're wrong
Say you don't understand
The ways and means
Don't mean a thing with no green
And your, body of work
Ain't nobody to be seen
The only choice to make is
Paper or plastic
So ya, do something drastic
And ya make it fantastic
You keep on fishin' for
A way to succeed
It's the, only way
For the big dogs to eat

Just ride the wave
Everybody rave
Don't be a slave
To the things you crave

Temptation make you
Want the things you don't need
Buy them, boogie shoes
And spend to
Feed the greed
You spin the wheel
And play the numbers you feel
Bet them double zeroes
And you'll, be a hero

Just ride the wave
Everybody rave
Don't be a slave
To the things that you crave

Feeble
Evil
Boring
People
Sneaky
Freaky
Lonely
Schemers
Fowling
Scowling
Bottom
Feeders
Musing
Amusing
In
Betweeners

Just ride the wave
Everybody rave
Don't be a slave
To the things you crave

So

So - you wanna play it slow
You're screwin' up my flow
And everyday you bring me down
So - you think that I don't know
You plan to change the show
Push that button and you're out of bounds

I am always ready
If you want a fight
I can play the heavy
'Til you see the light
I've been watchin' you since
You showed up last night
Now I got your number
If you wanna try

You don't wanna mess with me
Don't wanna take you down
No 'to be or not to be'
I'll just run you out of town
No showdown on the street
You best retreat

So - you know you need to go
I'm showin' you the doh
And I don't wanna hear a sound

There's no need to make up
Somethin' nice to say
Point of view don't matter
Don't do things that way
Smilin' in my face and
Then you try to lie
You're lucky all you get is
A handshake and goodbye

You don't wanna mess with me
Don't wanna take you down
No 'to be or not to be'
Just run you out of town
You better beat your feet
You better retreat
Don't make me show my teeth
Or you'll feel the heat

Same 'ole song and dance
Someone take a chance
Have to make a stand
Take them by the hand
( When - will - people - learn - to
Be - cool )

You don't wanna mess with me
Don't wanna take you down
No 'to be or not to be'
Just run you out of town
You don't wanna go round and round
('Cause) you'll be nothin' when I'm done
I could take you in my sleep
I do this just for fun

Another Dollar

----------------------------
Another cold night in the city
Hole in my shoe
What a pity
Pawnshop ticket full of dreams
Late night hour
Full of schemes
Traffic light stuck on red
Tears of an angel
On my head

But I'll get my feet back on the ground
Nobody gonna get me down
So I'm a street corner musician
Another dollar for my pocket full o' dreams

Four walls, one light, no bed
I'm not pretentious
Ain't goin' to my head
Don't wanna stand out in the rain
I gotta eat officer
That's the name of the game

But - I'll get my feet back on the ground
Nobody gonna get me down
So I'm a street corner musician
Another dollar for my pocket full o' dreams

Someday people will see
What the
Destiny
Is for me
I'll remember all of the kind ones
And for the rest
Give you a piece of my mind 'cause

I'll get my feet back on the ground
Nobody gonna get me down
So? hear me
Another dollar
Another dollar

Release Me

----------------------------
You don't want my - eyes to see
You can tell I - still love you desperately
I can't keep goin' on - searchin' for some way
To stop my heart from breakin' - every day

So I want you
To release me
I'll do anything
Goin' crazy
Please set me free
Someone help me
Heal my agony
Memories every day
Tried every way
Make you go away

Starin' at my - ceiling every night
Waitin' for some - guiding light
Why have all your pictures - closed their eyes
I know you're out there someone - give me a sign

So I want you
To release me
I'll do anything
Goin' crazy
Please set me free
Someone help me
Heal my agony
Memories every day
Tried every way
Make you go away

Contemplated - bullet in the brain
Silent voices - relieve the pain
Echoed whispers - all that remains
Why'd you tell me? - no one's to blame
Still cryin' - in my shame

Fleeting moments - in my dreams
Callin' out my name - so it seems

So I want you
To release me
I'll do anything
To be set free
Someone help me
Heal this agony
Tried every way
To make you go away

So I want you
To release me
I'll do anything
To be set free
If you're out there
And can hear me
I'm in agony
This wasn't meant to be
You're the only one for me
Oh God, can't you see
You're my reality
So please help me
And don't leave me

I'm In Love with Someone Else

----------------------------
Six o'clock in the morning and I woke up by myself
But I don't want to
I don't want
Drove my Mustang over here to tell you how I feel
But I don't want to
I don't want

Even though we're friends
And I love when you're around
I think that in the end
It's best I tell you now

I'm in love with someone else
Can't leave you on a shelf
I!
Don't know
Why!
I do this to myself
Maybe someday I could be
The friend you need from me
Nothing is easy

Wavin' in my rearview mirror - lookin' like you're lost
And I don't want to
No I don't want
I've - made my decision - no matter what the cost
But I don't want to
No I don't want

Tellin' you goodbye
Makes me wanna cry
Just lay down and die
'Cause you're the reason why
I found happiness
So I must confess

I'm in love with someone else
Can't leave you on a shelf
I!
Don't know
Why!
I do this to myself
If there's something I could do
To make this up to you
I!
Don't know
Why!
You said I love you, too
My
Life
Is
Complicated

One in the
Middle of
Two in - love is
One
Too
Many worlds

So, I - think - I - should - get - a - way - and
Wonder - why you
Both would try to
Tell me 'I do'
