Peratus

Peratus is a pop-punk-rock band making a lot of noise. After
forming in 2004 they have had many doors slam open to welcome their place
in the Northwest music scene. Peratus' debut EP, Feels like Hell released
in November '05 to great reviews. The single "Supposed to live" became a
favorite of Peratus fans worldwide. Their fans demanded a West Coast tour
in January of '07. After playing numerous bars, clubs, skate parks, and
schools down the West Coast, Peratus was welcomed back to their home town
of Seattle with an opportunity to make their first LP Equilibrium with
local Seattle record label C2M2. After six months at Paradise studio,
Peratus released their long awaited LP Equilibrium in November '07. This is sure
to be an album meeting the popular demand of music fans around the globe.

Peratus will be promoting Equilibrium with a three month tour of
numerous festivals, fairs, clubs, and bars on the West Coast in Summer '08.
Peratus is planning on opening for numerous national acts in the year of
'08. "Dammit" and a revved up version of Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell" are
just two of their crowd pleasing hits that have been taking the Northwest
airwaves by storm. Peratus has been compared to Sublime, Killswitch
Engaged and even to a new millennium version Billy Idol.

Each member of the group is a star in his own right. Singer/guitarist 5ev
Johnson has traveled the globe following his love for music playing guitar
since he was 11 years old. Sev has worked with many major players in the
industry including Anthony Ray (sir-mix-a-lot), as well as local rap
sensation Outtasite. Backup vocalist and rhythm guitar player Buddy
"Bones" Waring joined forces with Sev in early 2004 to form Peratus. Bud's
jaw dropping guitar lyrics are timeless and a great addition to Sev's
echoing vocals. Bass player Oliver Spencer and drummer Adam Olsen are the
solid rhythm section keeping the Peratus fans jumping. The other crucial
part of the band is Scott Happell laying down the keys and a little comic
relief.

Up next is Peratus from Seattle. They bring to us alternative rock from the Emerald City to their very first Portland show. This is rock reminiscent of back when there were entire radio stations devoted to fringe culture. For the first time today a band included keys into its sound and helped our out the altrock sound significantly. You can tell the band was comfortable in the midtempo and vocalist Sev Johnson had a crisp delivery that wasn't as abusive as previous bands and it was a distinct change in style for the festival which added some variance. They did a crowd pleasing cover of "Rebel Yell" which had the building pumping their fists.
