100 Proof Woman

Written By: Lynn Thomas

On Weekdays I’m an angel, my halo’s shining bright
An ordinary working girl who goes straight home at night
But there’s something about a weekend that brings out all my charm
Friday afternoon is just the calm before the storm
I’m half Southern Comfort and half pepper sprout
I’m a hundred proof woman, pop the cork and let me out.

Sundays are a blessing and Mondays are a curse
On weekdays I’m a shy one, so quiet, so reserved
But on weekend’s, boy I’m different, there’s such a change in me
I’m like a woman in a cage, just waiting to be greed
I’m half Southern Comfort and half pepper sprout
I’m a hundred proof woman, pop the cork and let me out.

I put the gusto into parties, and it ain’t no bull
I’m a hundred proof woman, you know I must be good
I’m cooler than a six pack and this you know is true
A hundred proof woman will make a man out of you

I cook and clean on weekdays, I’m such a household whiz,
They start off with a plop plop and end up with a fizz
No soda on the weekends, just straight up on the rocks
I stimulate intoxicate, I rock around the clock
I’m half Southern Comfort and half pepper sprout
I’m a hundred proof woman, pop the cork and let me out.
(She’s a hundred proof woman) pop the cork and let me out.

All My Heroes Played Guitars

Written By: Larry Lee/Neil James

John Wayne belonged to daddy
He was a cowboy and marine
And mama thought that Marilyn was the prettiest thing she had seen
Little brother loved Marino and all those football stars
I guess I was the strange one
All my heroes played guitars

All my heroes played guitars and sang great country songs
Like Loretta Lynn and Dolly and a new kid they called Jones
Then came Roseann Cash, Ricky Skaggs, and the changing of the guard
Well that’s Okay, I still say
All my heroes played guitars.

Grandpa loved the Roosevelts, he swore they saved the day
And uncle George loved Henry Ford but drove a Chevrolet
And Richard Nixon left the nation with some ugly scars
A I was still the strange one
All my heroes played guitars

I used to play the radio when the folks all went to bed
Reba, Hank and Tonya would go dancing through my head
I’d hear the lovesick stories from the honky tonks and bars
Yes I was the strange one
All my heroes played guitars

That’s okay, I still say
All my heroes played guitars.

Every Time You Go Away

Written By: Daryl Hall/John Oates

Baby if we can’t solve any problems
Why do we lose so many tears?
Whoa, so you go again
When the leading lady appears
Always the same thing
Can’t you see, we’ve got everything
Going on and on and on

Every time you go away
You take a piece of me with you
Every time you go away
You take a piece of me with you

Go on and go free
Maybe you’re too close to see
I can feel your body move
But it doesn’t mean that much to me
I can’t go on, saying the same thing
‘Cause you can’t see we’ve got everything
Baby, even though you know that

Every time you go away
You take a piece of me with you
Every time you go away
You take a piece of me with you

‘Cause you can’t see we’ve got everything
Baby, even though you know that

Repeat chorus

Paint It the USA

Written By: Petrella

Verse: Poems have been written
Songs have been song
Describing what she means to me
But I want to paint a picture
So I can close my eyes and see
The Freedom, The humanity
The peace the courage that flows throughout her land
A canvas of love from sea to shining sea

Chorus: I’m going to paint it the USA
Red, White and Blue all the way
From the beginning
To the end of eternity
I’m going to paint it the USA
Red, White and Blue all the way
A picture that’s worth
A thousand words, today

Verse: Bells have been tolled
Stories have been told
Books written about her history
But a picture is better for me
So I close my eyes and see
The beauty, the charm, her wide open arms
That embraces with dignity
A canvas of love from sea to shining sea

Repeat Chorus

Riverbed Home

Written By: Petrella

VERSE:

ITS RISING HIGH
HALFWAY UP PAPA’S PORCH
HE CLOSES HIS EYES
AS THOUGH HE TRIES TO DENY
THAT SOON HE’LL BE LEAVING HIS HOME
NO WHERE TO GO
HE WATCHES THE RIVER FLOW
HE CAN’T FACE THE TRUTH
IT’S NATURE’S ABUSE
HE PRAYS AND HE MOANS

CHORUS:

PLEASE DON’T MAKE ME LEAVE
MY RIVERBED HOME
IT’S THE ONLY PLACE
I’VE LIVED AND KNOWN
DON’T MAKE ME HAVE TO LEAVE MY RIVERBED HOME
IT’S WHERE I WANT TO DIE
MY RIVERBED HOME

VERSE:

LIKE A PRAYER
THAT’S SOON TO BE DENIED
PAPA’S FOUGHT HARD
DETERMINED TO SURVIVE
WHERE HIS CHILDREN WERE BORN
AND HIS FATHER DIED
BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH HE’S TORN
HE FALLS ON HIS KNEES
A DESPARATE PLEA
HE PRAYS AND HE MOANS

REPEAT CHORUS

BRIDGE:

HE HEARS THE YELLING IN THE DISTANCE
YOU MUST EVACUATE THIS LAND
IT SOUNDS LIKE THEIR HANDING A DEATH SENTENCE
TO A NOT GUILTY MAN

REPEAT CHORUS AND FADE
