"Fan Recommendation"

Remi Stevens and the Gang of Thieves kick ass. Turn off your Top 40 BS and listen to these guys. Trust me. And if you don't like it, well that's too bad.

"Listener Review for "Favourite""

Kicks like a mule - Superb!
this has to be just about the simplest song i've heard on garageband - lyrically it's like listening to a childrens nursery rhyme.... that's not to say it's not good, because in fact it's great! this track is so much fun & extra credit must go to the excellent rhythm section, the bass playing is incredibly tight & funky, the drummer flails around like Keith Moons younger brother on cheap amphetamines & the two combine to create the most infectious groove i've heard on garageband.
elsewhere the little vocal touches, all the little oohs and aahs really add some depth to what could have been a very one dimensional tune in lesser hands.
the incidental organ parts create a weird little carnival atmosphere & props to the guitarist for sitting back & keeping it simple while the rhythm section are having it large.

the production is great, the mix works & i'm now into my 4th listen - but what really stands out above everything else is that this is a band trying to do something original , clearly having a great time, and by the end i was too, possibly the best song i've heard on garageband - i'm still smiling ;-)

""Favourite" Review"

Wolf Mother meets Lenny
Cool orginal feel to the vocals have a great feel. Production is a total loss........ but I don't think you need to hear that.

This song is a winner and i love the bass line. Overall construction is excellent.

Look, put your hand into your pocket and pay to get in to a big dollar top quality studio, this song could be a hugh breaker for you. It's one of the most original, entertaining things I've ever heard on GB's.

As I said, production is crap, but the song is A1. Don't stop fame for another second, invest in yourself!!!

So much on GB's is trying to sound like everthing that has already been, you guys sound like the future!!

Re-record it, send it to anyone that will listen, try 'triple J' in Australia, you could be nation wide in Oz, check out their site, I'm sure you guys with a professional production and produced CD, you've got a indi anthem on your hands!

"Review of "Grief""

Avant, finally
It's been awhile since I've heard a band actually trying to sound different on this site--esp. in Indie Rock. This is a very original sound, with a surprising mix of ornate backup vox, postpunky lead vox, some shifting beats, some free-spirited bassing, and nice jagged guitars, also of the postpunk ilk--I'm thinking Gang of Four as I listen, though you guys are probably too young to have ever heard them. On my system the bass is too loud--obviously you want it heard, but it's drowning out too many of the other elements.

Let me say again, though, thank you for actually doing something that doesn't sound like everything else in so-called "indie".

""Stay" Review"

The Future
Crunchy baby, this is some nice futuristic funk. I dig it, very much. Wow, there is alot of great, great going on here. With all the backing vocals and sounds, apparent you are not afraid of experimentation. And it works, very engaging. Vocals are so, so cool, a bit like Rivers Cuomo. Definite Weezer influence, but taking that influence and re-working, very nice. While I don't think this song is a 5 exactly due to production mostly...I will give it one...great great style.

This is great. fun and catchy tune. I enjoyed it immediately. Great vocals and playing throughout. I dig the backing vocals and the drums too. Nothing to suggest...perfect as is.

"Detractors!!!"

bad bad bad
The production is awful.the vocals are painfull!the song is just a series of strange sounds witha distorted bass track and incoherant vocals

Uninteresting
This has no musical value whatsoever. Maybe someday you will grow up and take your music more seriously. Then again, maybe you won't.

"A review from the man himself"

Promoters: Please Read!

I've only been pitching Remi online for a few months so my press releases are listener reviews for the most part. As you can see, i really reach some people and completely turn away others. I'm sure the Sex Pistols, Nirvana and even the Beatles would have experienced this type of division amoung listeners when they were getting started. If a band is truly doing something different, and doing it well, they will have many detractors. The people who are looking for something new will love it even more because of its drastic opposition from accepted norms.

If your parents hate it, you'll probably love it!

"Listener Response to "Stay""

peace, love, and disco dust
Uh oh... yup, there it is...

This song belongs in the ears of a crowd of 60's & 70's disco dusters at studio 54. Love the composition... or lack of composition. This song is awesome.

Bio

Band collides with earth Oct 2004.

Has since recorded 9 albums of very original music, these tracks are a selection of the latest, studio recorded, album.

Other credits include, 2 rap albums, 1 disco, 1 drunk punk, 3 instrumental albums, a cooking show on youtube and the formation of the church of Agnosticism.

Also, please understand that my EPK's lack of photos and proper press releases is in effort to maintain some mystique surrounding the band. I could display 5 dudes in front of a brick wall looking constipated (as is the industry standard), but i felt some random images may be a welcome change. Of course, if this is inadequate for your media, real photos of myself and bandmates can be provided.

Getting some laughs is part of my product, but I assure you i'm working hard to make this band an underground success and am eager to work with you.
