With a distinctively British flair, Rescue Mission is warm and lush. With melodic and textured strings, dynamic beats, and vocals reverberating, the music weaves along the littoral. Rescue Mission's sound provides solace and a point of view.Share
Rescue Mission started in 2005. Through the next year, RM performed regionally between Austin and New Orleans. The band finished the first, self-titled LP with Kevin Butler at Test Tube Audio in 2007. To promote the record, Rescue Mission went on a US tour with Bird (Mark Burgess, Chameleons).
In 2008, it was determined the band needed to be reworked from the ground up. The following year a solidified lineup emerged, consisting of: Chad (guitars, vox), Jason (guitars), Brandon (guitars), Brad (synths), and Gabe (drums). Navigating the currents of life, Rescue Mission sailed forward with a fresh spirit, buoyed by new, dramatic pop songs.
2011 saw Rescue Mission complete their second album, Impossible Objects. Again, Kevin co-produced, but this time with Yves Altana (Invincible, Wonky Alice, The Chrysalids). It is currently available at live shows and digitally. The band continues to perform live, and most recently with the legendary Swans and ChameleonsVox.
