These guys sure take their time about releasing their songs. Their four-song demo was four years ago, and all four songs are redone here, along with five very strong new tracks. I like Angle Of Attack a lot. - Reverb Central
If you ever listened to the legendary Dick Dale who invented "surf guitar" (think the gut-rumbling instrumentals in Pulp Fiction), you'll really dig this. Pounding drums and reverb-laden melodies that wash in and out over nine instrumental tracks. The tunes range from mellow to amping, and the four-piece outfit says they're just looking to capture and pay homage to the ocean's ever-changing moods. No need to bring out the Gimp, this one's a goodie. - Zig Zag Magazine
New Gandy Dancer, issue #88 (2009):
"New name with a decent album of strong original material here in a surf space vein.
Much high-twanging and tom tom drumming races us into the album with a fun "Invasion" before an equally melodic, clean "Balkan Stomp.
"Ten Miles to Nags head" is a lovely, slower piece a la very early Ventures, while "In the Shadow's Shadow" is a jolly toe-tapper with super clean -- guess what -- UK guitar lead sound.
"La Cantina" is a well-produced Mexican guitar ride -- all instruments sounding neatly produced and "Sinister Island" is an up tempo, almost James Bond thriller.
Lots of axe-trilling too in Dick Dale mode for "Dark Pulsar," leading to the modern surfiness of "Revvin' the Woodie".
This very pleasant, non-offensive set is completed by a lovely, gentle "Blue Sunset," another good original and not the Japanese Ventures' hit.
3 out of 4 stars." - New Gandy Dancer

Reverb Galaxy – Angle Of Attack (Self Released) * * * *
Reverb Galaxy are a fairly new surf band based in Maryland, with a loud, brash sci-fi surf sound filled with twangy guitars, powerful drums and lots of reverb. Their debut CD contains 9 original songs, which kinda tread similar ground as bands like the Space Cossacks, Mercury Four and Destination: Earth, but there are a few songs that sound like they just washed up in the surf on a warm, sunny California beach. With just 9 songs they could have padded out this disc a bit with a few covers, but I respect them in their decision not to take this approach – this band is to be judged on the basis of their original compositions. The songs are strong throughout – I guarantee you won’t find a dull moment when listening to this from start to finish. - The Continental Magazine

Reverb Galaxy, a Maryland-based quartet that literally wears it's reverb on it's sleeve. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, as the nine originals in Angle of Attack illustrate. All four members have a hand in the songwriting, but Strat-wielding lead guitarist Art Svrjcek leads the way-from the angular opener "Invasion", to his melodic nod to Hank Marvin "In the Shadow's Shadow". It is, in fact the strength and variety of the compositions that impress most here-which considering the band's tightness and Svrjcek's big tone, is saying a lot. This, thankfully, is not a collection of riffs in search of a melody-the trap too many neo-surfers fall into. If the Ventures, were still in the practice of mining regional bands' repertoires for material they would do well to check out Reverb Galaxy. - Vintage Guitar- May 2009

Art Svrjcek - Guitarist
Art Svrjcek is a passionate songwriter with over 25 years of experience playing guitar and writing music. He has studied music theory and history, carrying on a venerable family tradition. Art's father met his mother while the two of them were writing musical numbers for a traveling military show. At the age of 12, his family journeyed to Kitty Hawk, NC, and Art took his used Silvertone guitar and amp with him. Inspired by the crashing waves and endless beaches there, his first song was born. While touring the East Coast with the Beach Boys' tribute band Still Surfin', he rekindled his desire to play instrumental surf music. Venturing out on his own he met Joe Atkins, and so began Reverb Galaxy. Art, along with Jim, enjoys longboarding, bodyboarding or just being at the ocean soaking up sun.
Joe Atkins - Guitarist
Joe Atkins is both a music enthusiast and talented rhythm guitarist who is one of the driving forces behind Reverb Galaxys success. In the third grade, he was inspired to begin playing his Dad's saxophone after attending a concert featuring Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass. During his years leading to college he became an avid record collector/historian and eventually began DJ-ing at Duke University's radio WXDU. After college, he joined a small D.C.-area Cajun combo, honed his rhythmic skills and played several successful events, including Congressional crawfish boils He has jammed with Louisiana luminaries such as Keith Frank and the Savoy Family Band. Joe continues to DJ events on a semi-professional basis and is an accomplished dancer.
Jim Colby - Bass Guitar
Journeyman Jim Colby is an accomplished veteran who is always striving, experimenting and mastering the constantly evolving styles of the bass. He has been a fixture in the DC music scene for over 20 years. Originally a keyboardist, he switched to bass when a slot became available in a KISS cover band. Over the next few years he played a variety of styles from Top 40 to Metal. During the 80s, Jim recorded and toured North America with future surf legends, the Insect Surfers. His down time is spent writing music, playing and collecting ukuleles, and embracing the Aloha spirit.
John Shepherd - Drums
John joined the group in 2010 and brings a wealth of experience along with a variety of musical styles to the group. He is a rock solid performer with great dynamics that allows the group to play everything from smaller, intimate venues to on-the-beach large soundstage shows.
Scott Newman - Saxophones/Percussion
Scott also joined the band in 2010, and has added a new flavor to the group's sound with his horns and percussive instruments.
