"Sean Reyes - Wasted Breath (Official Lyric Video)"

Sean Reyes has recently released the third single from his upcoming album, Know Thyself. The single is called “Wasted Breath”. For now, Sean Reyes released a lyric video for the single, which has gained an impressive 121,000 views already. “Wasted Breath” has a different sound than the acoustic flavor of his first single, “All I Ever Need” and his pop-punk influenced second single, “Just Another”. . “Wasted Breath” is a song about sorrow and regret. It is a story that many people can relate to in many different situations. Although a singer usually has pinpointed an exact reason for writing a song, it is wonderful, in my opinion, that fans (even if they don’t know the true meaning of a song) tell the artist their song relates to a situation they are going through. ”Wasted Breath” is a mid tempo ballad with his full band, which in my opinion, sounds similar to something Daughtry would perform. I also dug deep into the 90's and thought of Edwin McCain’s hit song, “I’ll Be” after the third time I listened to this song. Otherwise, the song is catchy and very easy to sing along to. Sean Reyes has a lot of variety in his music, and I am sure that will be no exception for the remainder of the songs on his upcoming album. Watch the video and listen to the song below. "Chart Topping Canadian Singer Songwriter With A Gritty Sound"

Every musician has a unique story that makes them stand out in the industry. Sean Reyes, a singer-songwriter from Oakville, Ontario, is no exception. Before holding a number one position at the Indie Music Countdown on The Radio Cafe, which is an FM station founded by Emmy Award winner, Christopher Ewing, Sean Reyes grew up from humble beginnings. Playing piano at age seven, then eventually singing for a local church choir, Sean Reyes changed the face of its music program. He helped make listening to the choir enjoyable for churchgoers of all ages.

Growing up with many musical influences, including Bon Jovi, Goo Goo Dolls, Dashboard Confessional, and Daughtry, Sean Reyes has been able to carve out his own niche in the last several years. His punk rock edge has been injected into his singer-songwriter material, gaining him crossover appeal on many different radio formats, including top 40, adult contemporary, alternative, and modern rock.

Sean Reyes suffered a serious head injury in 2009, but he was determined to recover quickly and he kept a positive mind, focusing on his music. He applied successful Do It Yourself (DIY) methods in promoting his music and was constantly writing new songs. Utilizing how the music industry was rapidly changing has been a key to his success. More artists are working independently by choice or they gain necessary Internet buzz before major labels will even give them a shot at a deal.

He was eventually found by Acoustic Alternative Radio later in 2009. He was able to reach out and gain fans well beyond his local reach in Ontario. Fans from Texas, California, Maine, and even Brazil have shown Sean Reyes praise for his music. The station played two of his songs, including the song which would be his biggest song to date, "All I Ever Need". He also released an official video for "All I Ever Need", which can be found on YouTube. This video has comments from well-wishers, including a devoted fan from the Philippines. It will also be one of the main singles off of his forthcoming album called Know Thyself, which will be released during the third or fourth quarter of 2012.

Sean Reyes just finished a trip early in May 2012 to Hollywood, California for the Indie Music Channel Awards at the House of Blues. He was nominated for five awards. Among the competition he faced from around the world, he was happy just to be nominated, but was especially excited to win the Best Male Pop Artist award.

Sean currently has nine videos on his YouTube page; many of him playing various songs live with his acoustic guitar. He is currently finishing up his album, connecting with new fans every day, and solidifying himself as an independent fixture in the music industry.

"Singer-Songwriter Sean Reyes Channels Punk Rock Roots for Second Single "Just Another""

Ontario, Canada singer-songwriter Sean Reyes released the official music video for the second single off of his upcoming album Know Thyself on July 16, 2012. Fresh from the success his first single, "All I Ever Need" had, which helped Sean Reyes top radio charts, win awards, and gain over 19,000 YouTube views, his new single called, "Just Another" has helped him reach an even broader audience. The new single, which is called "Just Another", channels his Southern California skate-punk and pop-punk roots. This mid tempo punk song can be compared to Dashboard Confessional's more upbeat offerings. It can also be compared to artists such as Yellowcard, All American Rejects, Blink 182, Bayside, New Found Glory, and other artists of similar style. Vocally, Sean Reyes still channels his raw ability to sing and carry notes as shown on "All I Ever Need", which was an acoustic, pop-rock song.

You can view the official music video for "Just Another" right here. The amount of views for this video have already surpassed 41,000 on YouTube just since July 16, 2012. Produced by Electrafire Studios, the video documents the message Sean Reyes portrays in his lyrics. Sean said the song itself was written to describe the mind games people can play on each other, especially when feelings are involved. Personally, Sean wrote about a female in his life that played mind games with him. He was being played for a fool, but he stuck with her just wanting attention from her. Sean talked about going the extra mile for this female. She kept stringing him along, saying all the right words, pretending the things Sean did for her actually mattered. Then, he hits the breaking point, coming to the realizing she does not care about him, and told her goodbye forever.
You can see throughout the video where the girl will ignore Sean. At the same time, she will think about other men, and go out with them on dates while still messaging Sean. There is one scene in particular where many men that have been stood up at a date can relate to. Between 2:30 and 2:40 in the video, you can see Sean waiting at a table for this girl so they can eat. The girl never shows up. Instead she goes on dates with two different men. Both dates end up with disastrous outcomes. At the end of the video, the girl shows up to where Sean and his band are performing the song in the video. Sean finally gets to vent his frustration about how their relationship has gone as he looks right at her while singing the line "Because you don't care", then he walks away. The girl is not too pleased judging by her reaction.

His album, Know Thyself, has been completed, but there is not a definitive release date yet. Tentatively, it is set to release either in late August or early September. You can learn more about Sean Reyes through this article and by visiting his official website. - Knoji.com

"Pop-rocker wins Indie Music Channel Award"

Longtime Oakville musician Sean Reyes is proof that it doesn’t take a large record label to be noticed in the industry.

The singer/songwriter/producer has just picked up the Best Male Pop Artist at this year’s Indie Music Channel Awards, held in Hollywood, California. The awards ceremony was held recently at The Legendary House of Blues.

“I am honoured,” the 30-year-old said. “I was honoured to just be nominated. To win an award such as that is amazing and I’m so grateful for it.”

Along with the award, Reyes was nominated for four more categories – best male rock artist, best rock song, best rock video and best pop video – for his debut single All I Ever Need.

“I was surprised more at the fact that I was nominated for five awards than the fact that I came home with one of them,” he said.

The award comes after several years of perseverance for the Oakville man. In 2009, he suffered a traumatic head injury; however, this did not stop him from pursuing a musical career and he continued to write and promote his own material. Eventually a radio station picked up two of his demos.

Since then, he’s focused on writing a full length album, titled Know Thyself, which is scheduled for release in the next few months.

"Sean Reyes – “Just Another” (Official Video) + New Fan Reviews"

Already known for his vocal chops in the acoustic singer-songwriter world as heard on his first single, “All I Ever Need”, Sean Reyes has already made Malibu, CA sized waves on independent radio stations and awards ceremonies. On the second single off of his upcoming album Know Thyself, Sean Reyes turns up the distortion and channels his punk rock influences. I was excited to hear this song since artists like Green Day, Blink 182, The Offspring, and Dashboard Confessional (whom Sean gladly states as an influence) took me through many middle school, high school, and college memories. The video itself is very well done, and has a story to it. It carries a message many men can relate to. In the video and just within Sean’s lyrics, there is a woman who says all the right things, acts like she cares, but takes advantage of his emotions. She stands Sean up, only to realize the men she stands him up for are complete losers. Sean, not wanting to let go for a while, held onto a sliver of hope, until he could not take the games anymore. The ending of this video says it all!

With over 41,000 views in just a week for this video, I can really see this song help to propel Sean Reyes to the next level. In fact, I feel it is great, since this song can reach out to a different crowd that may not have discovered his singer-songwriter material, but may be drawn to it after wanting to discover more of his music. Check out the video below, and after you watch it, enjoy some of the fan reviews I have gathered for Sean Reyes. Make your own, and be featured on this article as well!
The song definitely has a Dashboard Confessional feel to it. It reminded me of the skate punk style of rock that you don’t hear anymore, which makes the song refreshing when put up against the music of today that all sounds the same and is unoriginal.

- Laura R. – Philadelphia, PA

Alrighty, I just finished getting to listen to the entire song. I replayed it a couple of times because the voice tone and style sounded familiar, but I couldnt peg it. Then it hit me–he has a very similar tone/style to Good Charlotte! The song was very catchy and video was AWESOME! In a couple of places, the voice came off a bit pitchy, but to be honest I think that might be for added emphasis. 8 out of 10

- Amy R. – Pittsburgh, PA

I would say its not something I would regularly listen to but I could hear it getting radio play. Maybe a new Weezer, Jimmy Eat World Sum 41 type feel that would be good for an audience that is into those types of bands. Or Good Charlotte fans would also fall into that genre. It’s definitely something I could see getting somewhere.

-Lacy T. – State College, PA

I really liked the song. Very catchy and something I’d listen to/ buy a cd. The video threw me off. The look was more alternative rockish. I was expecting a more punk look.

-Jen L. – Peach Creek, WV

Hey man that is good stuff. Great band great voice! I would go see them if they were in Michigan.

-Craig W. – Detroit, MI

It’s definitely catchy. It doesn’t sound very complex in the rhythm but smooth and probably would catch on fairly easy. The video is pretty funny too. All in all good stuff.

-Kari L. - Uhrichsville, OH

Anyways I watched the video and I have to say I like the song it has a good flow to it. The video also flows along well with the song. Definitely could be an artist on the rise as is very talented.

"Sean Reyes - Just Another"

Sean Reyes delivers his second single ‘Just another’. This track is all skate rock a la Blink 182. It’s an upbeat, slice of perky pop that could easily be mistaken for Dookie era Green Day . The song’s sensibilities are light and its 4 minutes zip along quite pleasantly.

Its main driving force is its thumping percussion and short spiky riff. Oakville, Ontario native Reyes has delivered a quality piece of pop. Its upbeat tempo and simple melody drive the tune along with gusto. Lyrically it’s not complex and anyone can relate to its message of someone wondering why someone hasn’t called.

The best pop tunes are uncomplicated and Reyes has followed the short and sweet formula to a tee in delivering a very catchy and uncomplicated sophomore release. Simply enough this isn’t just another run of the mill single and it highlights the talents of an artist who is going places.
