""What's Real?", A Weird Musical Revenge Against New Age Music"

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Silentaria official website) "Survival is an ancient dream. Life is nothing but an everlasting illusion. Nothing is Real. Don't believe in illusion, remember me, I am here … "

This is not a conversation from a witchcraft movie, but a title story for Silentaria's new album; "What's Real?". "This is a story of a lost creature, surrounded by reality and illusion contradiction, as mentioned by Rixa White; the self-taught pianist, keyboardist, composer and poet behind Silentaria musical project.

Silentaria is a made-up name with two parts of "Silent" and "aria", indicating a quite hymn or tune. The combination is pointing to the silence of human inner side as a temple of silence which is the source of every sound. Although Silentaria music is categorized in New Age, Rixa's music is neither therapeutic nor related to any belief system at all. Tracks like "Lament of Being", "The Ruined Innocence", "What's Real?" and "Vital Doubts" bring up the suspicion that this music is a kind of revenge against usual soft titles like the most relaxing New Age music in the universe.

Silentaria's multi-dimensional fusion music benefits from emotional melodies and diverse instruments and devices to create multi-layered themes with cinematic atmospheres, progressive orchestrations, polyphonic harmonies and hypnotic rhythms. This emphasizes elements of mystery, sorrow, epic, rebellion and energy, alike a melody of the whole and releases the inner frustration to embrace infinite possibilities unfolded from emptiness. It brings Rixa's vision to mind which is inspired by the Wholeness and Emptiness philosophy and manifests in Silentaria's slogan: "The Voice of Emptiness".

Beside aforementioned elements, Silentaria music encourages a pure experience of life. It insists on facing the life burden as it is and not pretending that everything is fine outside while suffering inside. By this way, we do not need to hide our true-self and stop throwing ourselves into good mood. Rixa White believes that music can be a cure, if we let ourselves into a pure experience beyond our conceptual beliefs, observe the trap instead of ignoring it and become a witness, a Silent Witness.

"A slight change", a poem by Rixa White explains it all:
Pains are not to be relieved
Sorrows are not to fade away
a slight change in the vision
may bring a new experience

"What's Real?" album cover image illustrates a fading shadow on fading water ripples in the dark which ends up to a dot. The shadow can be any creature diving into illusion. The fact that both shadow and reflection on the water not existing by themselves, emphasizes the concept that what we believe and experience may not be real.

The circle of light which is iconic in most Silentaria's album covers, here represents the enlightenment of the one who seeks for the answer of "What's Real?".

The last not the least, it might be impossible to get caught in usual New Age music monotony while listening to Silentaria music. It turns from soothing instrumental (Farewell, Sorrowful Truth) into cinematic Epic (One Last Quest, Return of the Lost) and from energizing Electronic (Beyond Destiny, Real Fantasia) into thundering Rock (Deceived, Curtains over Eyes). But it is quite easy to surround yourself by this hybrid music that demands your sub-conscious for exploring strange sonic shores.

"Silentaria: A Diverse Approach To New Age Music"

After a long silence, Rixa White introduced Silentaria, an Electronic New Age musical project, in late 2010.??

Silentaria is a made-up name with two parts of “Silent” and “aria”, indicating a quite hymn or tune. The combination is pointing to the silence of human inner side as a temple of silence which is the source of every sound. The questions are “What does Silentaria music signify?” and “How does the music communicate with its listeners?”.

Although Silentaria music is categorized in New Age, Rixa’s music is neither therapeutic nor related to any belief system at all. Tracks like “Lament of Being”, “The Ruined Innocence”, “What’s Real?” and “Vital Doubts” bring up the suspicion that this music is a kind of revenge against usual soft titles like the most relaxing New Age music in the universe.

Silentaria’s multi-dimensional fusion music benefits from emotional melodies and diverse instruments and devices to create multi-layered themes with cinematic atmospheres, progressive orchestrations, polyphonic harmonies and hypnotic rhythms. This emphasizes elements of mystery, sorrow, epic, rebellion and energy, alike a melody of the whole and releases the inner frustration to embrace infinite possibilities unfolded from emptiness. It brings Rixa’s vision to mind which is inspired by the Wholeness and Emptiness philosophy and manifests in Silentaria’s slogan: “The Voice of Emptiness”.

Rixa White believes that music can be a cure, if we let ourselves into a pure experience beyond our conceptual beliefs, observe the trap instead of ignoring it and become a witness, a Silent Witness.

“A slight change”, a poem by Rixa White explains it all:.

The last not the least, it might be impossible to get caught in usual New Age music monotony while listening to Silentaria music. "Rebellious Electronic Music: Chaos In Beliefs Or Living Life To The Fullest?"

New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Is there a prescription to stop living in fear and guilt? Is rebellion one of the main ingredients? What if a masked man in white holds a key to answer? Will you listen to his music as a cure?

The rebellion concept has played a significant role in the evolution of contemporary music. Concepts and attitudes along with costumes and hairstyles have expressed various forms of rebellion in music history. Silentaria; an Electronic New Age musical project created by Rixa White; is intended to be in contact with that potentially rebellious part of us and awaken the rebel who is hiding somewhere inside.

Rixa White, a long-haired man in plain white, hiding his face behind a white mask is Silentaria iconic image. He might be the first New Age artist that purposefully focuses on encouraging his listeners not to fear, stop feeling guilty and live the life to the fullest, instead of forcing them to relaxation and serenity.

Silentaria opposes presenting any step-by-step instructions or belief systems since persuading a particular constant direction will lead to conformity and obedience.

Beside his music, Rixa White's poems and videos are in compliance with the aforementioned concept. For instance, against all advices that ask you to drop all masks from your face, "One Mask To Hide Them All" video emphasizes the doubt that even your face might be another mask chosen for you and encourages you to choose your own mask to tell the truth and become the change.

With such a rebellious vision, he has been criticized as an unorthodox in New Age music world and been told that his rebellious music concept can create a chaos in beliefs and lead to melancholy.

"It is my intention to release the well-hidden deep chronic sense of insecurity and dissatisfaction in my listeners. I insist on facing the life burden instead of pretending that everything is fine outside while suffering inside. Rixa White said as an agnostic atheist musician and added a quote from Nietzsche: "You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star" to answer the critics".

Silentaria's multi-dimensional fusion music benefits from emotional melodies and diverse instruments and devices to create multi-layered themes with cinematic atmospheres, progressive orchestrations, polyphonic harmonies and hypnotic rhythms, that present elements of mystery, sorrow, epic, rebellion, romance and energy.

With either despairing or challenging track and album names, it might be impossible to get caught in usual Electronic New Age music monotony while listening to Silentaria music. It is quite easy to surround yourself by this hybrid music that demands your sub-conscious for exploring strange sonic shores.

"Silentaria; The sound of Silence"

My guest today is a musician, a poet, and a man of mystery.

Rixa White - Silentaria Rixa White, the former spirited online entrepreneur hid his identity, transformed his destiny, returned to his roots and followed a new path in life through his music. As a self-taught Pianist, Keyboardist, Composer and poet, he was never an alien to music world as he started to play at age 6 and composed his first recitals when he was 14.

In 2010, he created Silentaria musical project by combining elements of Electronic, New Age, Contemporary Instrumental, Ambient and Progressive Rock genres. It is the reminiscence of Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Kitaro, Enya, Yanni, Enigma and Era.

Although he traveled the world for his business, it never stopped him from watching sunset in stonehenge, dancing with gypsies in Malaga (Spain), burying himself in Middle-Eastern sands, treading barefoot on the sacred soil in an Indian temple, walking along great wall in China, staying in a Japanese monastery, getting drunk at 5th avenue, losing his way in UN at Geneva, kneeling in Sistine Chapel and listening to lost souls in Rome Coliseum.

Nowadays, if not traveling, you can find him developing new gears and features for his music, composing new melodies in his personal studio for Silentaria or writing a new poem to share with fans and friends.

You are only photographed with a white mask, and have become known as ‘Man in White’. What is the reasoning behind wearing the mask?

For the last 10 years, I have only worn plain white and friends called me “Man in White” for it. After years of adventurous life, I found it peaceful although it is kind of hard to find white outfits with no visible signs or trademarks.

This outfit combined with an emotionless mask, for me it is the sign of a silent witness that demonstrates Emptiness on one hand and visualizes Rebellion against all masks we wear in life on the other hand. *One Mask To Hide Them All* YouTube video: http://youtu.be/OeFke2b2Plg

By wearing a mask, I am only hiding my other masks, so, I can play my true story and as Oscar Wilde noted: “Give him a mask and he will tell you the truth.”

Beautifully said.

Can you tell us a bit more about the Truth, and Rebellion against what?

The Truth can be anything in the form of beliefs, emotions, wishes or objections that we hide from society, our friends and even ourselves, because we are in fear and need to protect ourselves from losing or being judged as unacceptable.

My mask emphasizes the fact that we hide the truth behind the masks we wear and the roles we play every day.

Those masks made our inside so complex that an inner revolution is needed to observe, recognize and remove them from our true-self. (Read *A rebellion to empty our inner-side* for further explanation: http://silentaria.com/2012/08/14/from-rebellion-to-emptiness-an-unconventionality-in-new-age-music)

In outside world, it might seem impossible to drop all masks that society forces us to wear, but we always have a chance to know them, eliminate some and choose new ones consciously.

You’re inspired by something called the ‘Wholeness and Emptiness philosophy’. Please explain a bit about that for us.

Emptiness is about being empty of judgment, thought, belief, etc. It helps us to look at an experience in a simple way and add nothing to and take nothing away from it. It is a journey to meet the wholeness within.

My entrepreneurship in IT business gave me a chance to travel a lot and seek for my unanswered questions in every corner of the world. Once in a Zen temple I learnt about Emptiness philosophy and wholeness concept and found out that the answers are hidden within and all I need to do is to empty the inner side to hear the voice of it.

Later, when I started to compose music again, I created *Silentaria to be “The Voice of Emptiness”*. Read more here: http://silentaria.com/2012/08/06/silentaria-a-diverse-approach-to-new-age-music

What/Who are your musical influences?

I grew up listening to pop stars like Michel Jackson, Modern Talking, Madonna and Sandra along with Electronic New Age musicians like Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Enigma and Kitaro.

Growing up in a multi-cultural family, I listened a little bit of Classical music here and a little bit of World music there. Later during my travels I get influenced by acts like Yanni, Era, Gregorian Chants, Enya, Sacred Spirit and VAS.

"Sabine Makes Top 5 beside Destiny's Child "Love Songs" for Valentine's Day playlist"

February 11, 2013
Let’s face it, when it comes time to seal the deal on Valentine’s Day there’s only so much mileage you can get out of roses and chocolate-covered strawberries. Music has long been recognized as one of the most powerful aphrodisiacs and works like Ravel’s “Bolero” and anything by Barry White have been soundtracking make-out sessions for decades. Every year though there are new titles released to tie-in with Valentine’s Day and this year the Destiny’s Child compilation “Love Songs” from Legacy Records leads the pack.

Destiny’s Child “Love Songs” contains one new tune in the recently-recorded “Nuclear” but otherwise the 14-song set list will be as familiar to fans as the touch of their lover’s lips. The sensual and perfect for V-Day “Cater 2 U,” the slinky Isley Brothers cover “Second Nature,” and the steamy “T-Shirt” are among the best mood-setters here and if those don’t get the job done then other inclusions like “Temptation,” the Bee Gees cover “Emotion” and the Kelly Rowland solo track “Heaven” surely will. And lovers should definitely take a hint from the wisely-titled “Say My Name,” presented here as a Timbaland remix.

Legacy has also just released a Billy Joel title for Valentine’s Day, “She’s Got a Way: Love Songs.” Like the Destiny’s Child release “She’s Got a Way: Love Songs” is a compilation but in this case there is no new material appended. Joel never sounded more in love than he did on “Uptown Girl” but that song is about ex-wife Christie Brinkley and it is not included here. But plenty of Joel’s other big numbers are about love and hits “She’s Always a Woman,” “Just the Way You Are,” “Honesty,” and a live version of “She’s Got a Way” are all on board. The rest of the set is culled from deep in Joel’s catalog, including the ’90s cut “All About Soul” and the very early instrumental “Nocturne” from the “Cold Spring Harbor” album.

Reggae fans haven’t been left out of the Valentine’s Day love fest; singer Morgan Heritage has a new single in the humbly-titled “Perfect Love Song” and you can purchase the track as an instrumental so you can sing it to your lover yourself. Reggae star Gregory Isaacs has a 4-CD box set dropping on Valentine’s Day; the 80 songs found in “The Love Box” should get lovers through even the lengthiest evening of kissing and hugging.

And if you really want to do some impressive wooing, download a free copy of “Sabine,” the new Valentine’s Day single from Silentaria (electronica artist Rixa White.) White purposely didn’t put any lyrics to “Sabine” so that you could customize it to suit your romantic needs. - Examiner: kevin-wierzbicki

"Sabine: A Story of Love And Loss"

Sabine is a new single from Silentaria, a music project by Rixa White. Sabine is named after a character in Romain Rolland’s masterful 10 volume novel Jean-Christophe (1904 -1912). And like Sabine in Rolland's novels, the song by Silentaria leaves an unforgettable impression. Sabine is simply not to miss.

Music inspired by literature is rare these days. In New Age music we have quite a few albums released each year inspired by ancient myths and tales (Atlantis is always popular, so is also Greek myths), but few albums are composed in tribute to books and literary characters. But with Sabine Silentaria shows the way and can be an inspiration for other artists.

Sabine's Grace
Silentaria gives us this description:

Sabine is a pretty small-boned woman who charms by her grace, her youth and her gentleness. With light brown hair, pale blue eyes and well marked arched eyebrows, she looks like an expression of the Madonna in Filippo Lippi’s paintings.
Jean-Christophe, a German musician, never dreamed that a small crack in the closed shutters is enough for love to peep out. With magic of indefinite silences and trivial words, their love grows. But they hold in their love and their emotional moments are prevented either by an intruder or their own hesitation.
Finally their relationship cuts off by unexpected Sabine’s death, while Jean-Christophe is away on a concert tour.

This is the dramatic background for Silentaria's single. It is always a joy to hear artists who master the sound of analogue synths. While new synths, like Sylenth1 and Omnisphere, have clarity, the 1980s synths have depth, warmth and atmosphere. Silentaria uses the synth choir and strings to perfection. It is like listening to Constance Demby's classic Novus Magnificat (1986), with a modern twist.

Inspired by the book Jean-Christophe and the early 1900s, the light piano melody tells the story of love and loss, and the value of cherishing good memories.

It it possible for a song to tell as much as a 10 volume book? Perhaps not. But Silentaria's Sabine is a marvelous song that makes you want to read the book and hear more releases by this fine artist. It shows too that text and notes can tell the same story. That is a big accomplishment. - New Age Music: BT Fasmer

"“The Beginning of the End” album has been reviewed by Mike DeGagne"

Artist: Silentaria
Album: The Beginning Of the End

Cosmic. Trance-like. Hypnotic. Celestial. Mesmerizing.
These are just a few of the sure-fire adjectives that will most likely be employed when describing Silentaria’s album The Beginning of the End. The music is synthesizer based, with layer upon layer of spacey progressive waves, apropos vocal injections, and multi-colored flashes of assorted beats, rhythms, and pulses. Like a trip through outer space and then suddenly experiencing a supernova, Silentaria take you on a voyage with plenty of surprises. Yes, it’s been done before, but that doesn’t mean that one can’t indulge once again in this trippy, new-age style of delicious sonic syrup.

The comparisons are plenty…Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, just to name a few. These resemblances hit home right away on “Emerge”, the opening track. A dancing rhythm and pulses of synthesizer beams painting colors in your mind, both combining and leaving you with a peaceful ease that is aided by the faint choral of “aaahhhs” that float by in the background. There’s a wonderful detached feel that arises from Silentaria’s style of music…a type of “comfortably numb“-ness that the band was aiming for and succeeded in accomplishing. The same can be said for the album’s title track, the next song in sequence, which adds a faint backbeat but still incorporates a lush, celestial-like bunch of keyboard swatches up front to keep with the mood.

“Return of the Lost” incorporates more of a mysterious feel to its body, sounding like the music being played in a suspense movie, chock full of short, sporadic bits of synth. “The Ruined Innocence” is haunting, almost Omen-like in its mood and soft yet sinister air. This pair of songs exhibit yet another color in the spectrum of Silentaria’s electronic music…a welcoming change to what could’ve been (but is far from) a set of tracks weighed down by similar rhythms, themes, and time signatures. They change gears once again in “Lament of Being”, a science fiction-like set of mechanical keyboard lines that sound purposely cold, lonely, and distant. The pace is picked up on “Beyond Destiny”, which sounds like it could have been used in the movie Blade Runner. Melodic and musically vibrant, the synthesizer is put to good use once again with its up-tempo pace and ethereal pastiches swimming about in mid-air.

“One Last Quest” has the listener visioning a barren landscape with a solitary voyageur trekking across its stark terrain…quite effective. “Hidden Utopia” is a shimmering barrage of pulsating rhythms, short and sweet, but merging together to create a kaleidoscope of electronic hues. In “It’s Time To Go”, the robotic voice that repeats the title of the track is nestled in amongst more mood-infused patches of chilly tones and tinges, while “Farewell” bubbles with frothy keyboard fragments and dazzling bursts of electronic sketches. The album ends with “Eastward”, a sort of clunky, Alan Parsons Project-ish track that doesn’t feel out of place from rest of the album’s topography.

To sum it up, Silentaria doesn’t really do anything new here. They don’t break new electronic ground or add any special effects for shock value. What they do, plain and simple, is create an appealing collection of electronic pieces that breed their own definite personality. Who cares about the comparisons, or what other artists their music reminds you of, Silentaria’s The Beginning of the End makes for a great escape into the wonders of electronic music, and they get full marks for making each track distinctive, individualistic, and eccentric.

"Silentaria releases "The Beginning of the End""

“The Beginning of the End” is a concept album released by Silentaria, the New Age musical project, composed and produced by Rixa White; a self-taught pianist, keyboardist and composer known as "Man in White".

Basically, Silentaria is inspired by the Wholeness and Emptiness philosophy. Its voice is an invitation to the inner world which is silent but the source of every sound. This manifests Silentaria’s slogan: “The Voice of Emptiness”.

Silentaria music layered with progressive parts, effective vocals and proper sound effects creates gentle themes which take the listeners on a journey of self-actualization, inner thought and peaceful insight, while focusing on pure experience of life, beyond conceptual words and beliefs.

Silentaria musical project combines elements of Electronic, New Age, Progressive, Contemporary Instrumental and Ambient music. It is the reminiscence of musical projects like Enigma, Yanni and Jean Michel Jarre, Kitaro and Vangelis.

Silentaria music is mainly instrumental as vocals are occasionally used to highlight its message. The main instruments are Keyboards, Synthesizers, drum machines and digital choirs. Rixa White also uses digital sounds such as Flutes, Strings and computer-generated human voices and writes all the lyrics by himself.

By naming the Album as “The Beginning of the End”, Rixa White refers to his life status and illuminates his vision of present era.

This album is the first sequel of a set of albums focusing on a journey to the inner world. All 11 tracks are conceptually related and named based on their roles in the album story line. However, each track can be listened, felt and enjoyed distinctly.

The album cover image has been designed to emphasize the fact that both the beginning and the end come with enormous blasts in the universe. The light circle in debut album is an iconic sign of Silentaria illustrating a blast of awakening.

Tracks
The mellow theme of “Emerge” , with multi-layered melody and no drum beat, starts to prepare the atmosphere for the second track, “The Beginning of the End” , which is a strong and glorious piece with particularly the same name as album.

It is followed by “Return of the Lost” contains three consecutive movements and ends with an upbeat theme.

“The Ruined Innocence” appears as a chorus music having soft beats, reversed background vocal and expressive melody in an electronic atmosphere combined with influential sound effects.

The next track, “Lament of being”, is a soft low-beat music which emphasizes sadness.
It leads to “Beyond Destiny”, an upbeat progressive music which is energetic and enhances the listeners’ mood more exclusively.
The most epical piece of the album is “One Last Quest” that reminds us the Enigma’s “Mea Culpa”.
“Hidden Utopia” uses computer-generated vocals to create both breezy and soprano voices for calling Utopia enigmatically. Its identical chord turns into a mid-beat techno in the last part of the track.
Now, “It’s time to go”. In this track the use of computer generated vocals reaches its climax by such a dialogue-like communication between a robot voice and a digital angelic choir. It is mainly about “time” and an invitation to leave the current situation.
“Farewell” is factually indicated a hollow beat by a soothing and consoling theme. It demonstrates a well-built synchronization between electronic and classical themes.
Finally the last episode of the album is “Eastward”. It points to a mystical journey toward spiritual east. It is a mid-beat music containing quad-tone melodies played by middle-eastern instruments and percussions in an electronic space.
