"SILVASTONE nominated MOBO AWARDS "Best African Act" 2015"

Silvastone is an acclaimed London-based African artist, producer and songwriter with an international recording profile. He has just been named by BBC Radio 1Xtra amongst their “Hot For 2015” – the hot emerging artists to watch out for 2015.

Born in South-East London to Sierra Leone and Ghana parentage, Silvastone developed a keen interest in playing music instruments whilst at a very young age and could effortlessly play piano by age 5. Influenced by Ghanain Highlife and Classical music along with other genres he started to create his own music when he moved to Sierra Leone with his father at the age of 11.

These early years growing up in West Africa soon paid off as his continued return travels earned him great acclaim and the opportunity to work with notable names like D’banj, 2Face, Sarkodie, Wanlov, Emmanuel Jal and many more across the continent, where he has now scored numerous chart and club hits and remains a sought after producer.

Meanwhile, Silvastone’s reputation in the UK has continued to grow and he has produced, remixed and written tracks for some international names. Over the last 18 months he has earned credits for work with Sarkodie, Rita Ora, Afrojack, Dan Croll, Mark Morrison amongst others.

Silvastone recently released the ambitious and pioneering ‘Transitions’ EP with the intention of pushing the genre’s musical borders extensively. The combination of his 15 years’ production experience, international travel and diverse music tastes culminated in a debut EP that is a clever hybrid of African beats and melodies merged with Hiphop, R&B, Drum&Bass, Trap, Dancehall etc - MOBO AWARDS 2015

"Juiced Today - Nairobi's "Lagos Party" Review (August 2015)"

No slick, easy to the eye, no macho security around him, he makes rounds around the club- often a times striking a conversation with the local revelers or bussing an Azonto knee-knocking move at some point when the deejay played the Ghanaian inspired dance hit track- but often a times when we made contact with him, he seemed shy yet a likable guest.

The London-based Silvastone last Saturday performed at the Taurus Events’ Lagos party held at Aqua Blu Club and Lounge, and proved why he is a man on a mission- that mission; to take the flavor of the motherland for foreign palates and beyond!

It is Saturday evening, and Silvastone, fresh off a flight from Uganda, is ready to take the stage at the Taurus Events and Jack Daniel’s Kenya event dubbed #LagosParty.

Past midnight and after a curtain raiser high voltage performance from Boneless- the king of Kamba house music, Silvastone is up and Boneless diplomatically paves the way. His introduction is a crowd rally and Club Aqua explodes. Dressed in black with a touch of kitenge or ankara, he beams with an easy grin- damn, who knew this guy is this tall?

With his pioneering ‘Transitions’ EP- Silvastone is fast becoming a mainstream star. His performance- a detonation of the fused afrobeats’ lock-limbed digital rhythms, big hooks and that African x-factor, drum beats, Silvastone wooed the revelers to the dance floor with his ‘Skatta Remix’, ‘Loving my Baby’ and ‘ Bus ma Head’.
But it was the “Skatta Remix” with the legend, Chaka Demus that got the crowd energized and joining the star in singing the throwback lines that are a crowd delight, “ I know this girl her name is Maxine/ Her beauty is like a bunch of rose/ If I ever tell you ‘bout Maxine…/
And “murder she wrote” the crowd would tease loud and mellow. Surreal is the word: at one point even the artist was philanthropic enough, handing his EP to the charging crowd that kept on asking for more. - JuicedToday, Kenya
