"The Soul Tree Villains"

The Soul Tree Villains at L.O.M.E. Fest was so rockin' I had to pick up there CD. There set took me back to the days when rock could still make someone feel great one minuite, sad the next and like I'm dreaming the next. It had Funk, it had Soul, it had Blues, it had Jazz all under a rock blanket that just blew my mind. Keep an ear on these guys there the next big thing!!!

Bio

The Soul Tree Villains were formed in the late summer of 2005 in a 110 degree wood shed now know by many as "The Soul Shed".
Jason had been playing and recording his own music since the age of 9. Playing everything from Bass, and Sax, to Percussion, guitar and piano. He would write and record everything. He also gained a great ear for different feels on different instruments. So when it came time for him to put together his own band he knew exactly what he wanted. The Bass had to be funky, the drums had to incorperate percussion and create a pocket with more groove than fills, and the lead guitar had to be more feel than technique.
Bill has been playing bass in bands from Boston to New York, and has been tearing up the music scene with some seriously funky rock oriented basswork. Bill comes from a music family where each of his brothers are gigging musicians in different projects. The last project Bill worked on he had played with a drummer that he felt a great musical bond with, and recomended him to Jason.
Pete had been teaching drums for a local music school and has about 60+ students. His style of playing was perfect for the project. He plays a kit that incorperates percussion giving it a wider range of sound than a standard kit. Due to the fact he had played with Bill for so long the Rythm section is one of the tightest in the industry.
Seth supplied the last piece of the puzzle lending his bluesy leads that you dont hear you feel. Seth, a student of Ritchie Scarlet, had been playing since he was a little kid and now he doesnt play a lead he bleeds a lead.
The Bands influences range from Santana, The Black Crowes, older Lenny Kravitz, Led Zepelin and Cream, to Sublime, Bob Marley, 311, and The Spin Doctors.
They started off with a few fully packed local show's and quickly moved up to packing places like The Bitter End, The Knitting Factory, Crash Mansion, The Emperess Ballroom, The Towne Crier... ect.
The Soul Tree Villains are one of the fastest growing bands to hit the NY music scene in years.
