Biography

Hailing from opposite ends of Southwestern Ontario, the 4 members of Sound as People have taken their breadth of musical experience and formed the ultimate indie alt-rock group that will shock your senses, awaken your innermost thoughts, and leave you wanting more. With a live show rivaling the best in entertainment today, Sound as People will leave an impression!

Andrew Hines, lead vocalist, has been singing and playing guitar since his voice first dropped. He has gigged throughout the London Ontario area for years, and this experience has enabled him to fuse multiple influences into a voice and lyrical wordplay that leaves the audience in awe.

Rob Kemp, innovative lead guitarist from Brass Bikini fame, and more recently The 13th, lends a unique creativity to the bands persona with effects that dont even have names yet. His approach and feel bring together influences of Edward Van Halen, Steve Vai, Dave Knudson and Mike Einziger. Add to his playing a positive vibe and crazy sense of humour, Rob is a true player of passion.

Jake Campagnaro has been perfecting the art of bass since he was a young buck of 14. Taught by his father, a professional jazz musician, Jake brings a unique twist of funk infused melodic basslines to tickle the senses and many wonder how such a young player could have such a mature sound.

Rob Crate, drummer, began hitting things with sticks at a young age. To prevent him from being detained, his parents bought him a drumset at the age of 14. Influenced by the greatest drummers of his time and before, Rob strives to perfect his rhythmic pallet daily. Experimentation and solid time-keeping give Sound as Peoples tunes a unique spin with a solid backbeat.

Sound as People are coming to a venue near you.

Purpose

Written By: Sound As People (Andrew Hines)

I’m attempting to write this but the words yet to come to mind
I’m attempting to cool the flames but it’s burning from inside
Always instigating, always falling victim to your pride
Tighten grips will hollow, tempers grind say now it’s time

What is your purpose in being here?
Why are my words all falling on deaf ears?
What is your focus? Afraid to try?
In light you can’t see behind blind eyes
I’m defending what is yet to be decided as I write
I’ve been stealing from emotions at the break of every fight
You’ve been instigating, sat back waiting, wondering who will cave
I’ll grow up a little. Meet me half way. Now I’ll try.

What is your purpose in being here?
Why are my words all falling on deaf ears?
What is your focus? Afraid to try?
In light you can’t see behind blind eyes

I’m attempting to write this but the words yet to come to mind
I’ve been trying to cool the flames but it’s yet to do me right
I was instigating, I was falling victim to your pride
Tighten grips will loosen, cool your jets I know you’re right

What is your purpose in being here?
Why are my words all falling on deaf ears?
What is your focus? Afraid to try?
In light you can’t see behind blind eyes (behind blind eyes)

Behind blind eye (Behind blind eyes)

Behind Blind Eyes

Live Before We Die

Written By: Sound As People (Andrew Hines)

[chorus]
Oh the road is long but the night is young so let’s raise em high
oh the days of youth have gone so fast so let’s live before we die

It’s been so long since we have tried so let’s let experience be our guide
it’s hopes and dreams, it’s your beliefs, it’s time to reach
so pack it up and pack it in we got nothing to show for these days of sin
its hopes and dreams its hopes and dreams its hopes and dreams

[chorus]

it’s been so long since we have tried we got nothing to lose we got nothing to hide
just be yourself let no one else stop you where you stand
we’re looking out to make them look back in I got a story to tell for where we have been
get out of my way, got something to say, doesn’t matter anyway

[chorus]

and we’re on the road and we’re getting aggressive with a hammer to the wall
and we’re all connected and we’re getting expressive with a hammer to the wall
so say hello to my little friend
ya say hello to my little friend
just say hello to my little friend
just say hello to my little friend

[chorus]
[chorus]

Kitteh

Written By: Sound As People (Andrew Hines)

Look at me and it’s instinctual
the tattered rags of hair unwinding
mesmerized you’re climbing up the wall
streaming tears for what you’ve found you

[chorus]
hit the ground with your forehead
bat us around again
and take a note for free
I’m always waiting on you
look into my eyes
blood shot again tonight
I close them make you disappear

scratch away get shut down under
stare me down with blue-green eyes
a simple look it takes me over
circle round for one more pass I

[chorus]

circle round light steps that meander
turn away
come around for one more pass I
circle round light steps that meander
turn away
come around for one more pass i

[chorus]

[end chorus] X2
hit the ground with your forehead
bat us around again
and take a note for free
i’m not waiting on you
look into to my eyes
blood shot again tonight
i close them make you disappear

I Can See

Written By: Sound As People (Andrew Hines)

Would you take some advice?
It ain’t easy, that’s why you’re wrong
when you think that you’re right
you slow me down, you’re on your own

I’ve been wandering around, dodging you, you’re hard to put off
well it’s jealousy that’s gripping you but when it happens we rarely know

I can see me
I can see you
can you hear me
or do you want to?
you’re mind’s on repeat
but I can free you
I can see me
I know you want to

I’ve been walking down this tight strung wire and it’s gone
I’m breaking ground
well you can think of me with everything you do
but when it happens i’m not speaking

I can see me
I can see you
can you hear me
or do you want to?
you’re mind’s on repeat
but I can free you
I can see me
I know you want to

[Bridge]

I can see me
I can see you
can you hear me
or do you want to?
you’re mind’s on repeat
but I can free you
I can see me
I know you want to
