"The Spitfire Nines "Eight""

Another song on this eight track album such as “Eleventh Hour” is a tribute to Fallen Nils front man Alex Soria. It’s more up beat and kind reminds me of a part in empire records as Renee Zellweger is singing on the roof top… oh yes! The old time fav “Sugarhigh” by Coyote Shivers. It obviously is not the same but nonetheless is probably one of the best songs on the “Eight” album other than “Eldorado”. - Theradiostation.blog

"An Evening With the Spitfire Nines is Like Hanging out With You're Weird Friend Steve"

The band is crammed onto the pub’s tiny stage. The audience, an eclectic mix of college kits and harden pub vets are held in sway as the Nines varied musical tastes offer a morsel for one and all. For the Dawson/Vanier/John Abbot crowd, there is a healthy selection of Spitfire Nines originals. Though the band has yet to release an album (one is promised, though not in a completely un-Chinese Democracy way) they know all the words, and belt them out from across the room. For the pub warriors, there are the old drinking songs; warm, friendly and easy, like your OK looking cousin. And for the rest of us, there’s the covers. Where the hell else, I ask you, would you get The Clash, Steve Earl, Blondie, Gordon Lightfoot and the aforementioned Neil Diamond in the same set? - Green Miracle Productions

Bio

The Spitfire Nines are an alt country band from Montreal, Canada who draw as much inspiration from Johnny Cash and Neil Young as they do from The Clash.

Songs range from pop rock gems about bad-relationship choices in Mood Ring, to the political mud-slinging, countrified crunch of El Dorado, to taking a leap of faith and letting destiny take the wheel in the stadium sized 11th Hour.

Make sure to check out their first FM single, What's Under the Sand as well as the video for Eldorado, the song which was placed in a recent director's cut of ABC's hit TV series "Supernatural".
