"Lullaby Single Review"

“Trying to corner the clox into one specific genre is like telling time with a sun dial on a

cloudy day. Sometimes things are meant to live in the ether and exist freely without the

confines of rules. Their new single Lullaby is about as complex and triumphant as you

can get. Starting off with Robert Smith like guitar and dissonant vocals it plunges deeply

into a trippy calculated chaos of percussion, vocals, and horns...Keep your ears out for

this band and catch them while you can!” - The Only List Blog

"The Clox "Lullaby" Single Review"

“The title for this is rather appropriate. What the Brooklyn outfit have cornered here has a high degree of instrumental work which finely crosses over with a differing playing arc and style in the later progression . As such the fusion of electronica and synthesized
beats to the more steady rock calling galvanises the tune. It is a rich showing and one which feeds through with a choice distinction etched into its very fabric at every turn.” - U and I Magazine (Ireland)

"Digital submissions: The Clox plays Living Room on 08.11"

One of the best things about New York is how so many people, hailing from the world over, can congregate in the same place, and somehow they (we) all end up calling this land home for one reason or another. One of the most intriguing things about this situation is how good a lot of people from overseas have become in producing the "indie rock" music originally coming from the U.S. Take The Clox for example. Hailing from Kazakhstan, the group has set up shop here in Manhattan to show us all how a lot of this heavy rock business is supposed to be done.

Listen to the anthem ‘Jules Verne’ off their latest EP of the same name, and tell me these guys don’t know how to do it. Their unique cross between bands like INXS and Oasis does what this band is good at: sounding familiar and exotic at the same time. The rest of the EP follows this formula closely, leaving almost no stone unturned in carving out a large sound that just might work anywhere in the world.

After performing at Santos Party House on July 27, the band will take over The Living Room on August 11. - Mike Levine (@Goldnuggets) - Deli Magazine

"Px band and Clox"

Px Band is the name for Tallinn based band. This time Ruslan – the band lead – came together with one more guy and they put up an amazing duo performance. After they were done, local superstars Clox band took stage on the outside patio. It was an excellent night full of good music, positive people and more. - Music on The Streets

"The Clox Exotic New Single"

“Change is one of the secrets of inspirations. That's definitely something Brooklyn band (via eastern Europe) The Clox knows, considering how different and how inspired their newest single "Lullaby" sounds. While their previous releases offered a sound landing somewhere between alt rock and new wave, "Lullaby" welcomes music influences that sound Arabic to us (we are not expert in the field), and absorbs them in a western electronic rock setting.”

"The Clox"

What's the meaning behind the band's name?
Igor Reznik: The most valuable resource that we have in life is time. Its a resource that there is never enough of. Clocks are always a reminder that time is ticking. So with those thoughts we changed the spelling of "Clocks" to "The Clox" and settled on that to represent the band

How the band started??
Denis Orynbekov: As most bands start, with two accoustic guitars. Ruslan and me moved to New York from Kazakhstan with a dream and a determination to start a band. After a couple of months in New York we met Igor at a neighborhood bar. We started jamming and playing at open mikes. Igor at that time played rhythm guitar. We also met a basist named Alex Prokofyev that left the band in late 2009. We evolved quickly and seemed to get better and better gigs. It became kind of a family for us.
Russel Bay: Yeah. The studio became our home.

What's the message to transmit with your music??
Igor Reznik: There are many messages it really depends on the song. But all songs are about the distance between love and death.

What's your method at the time of writting a song??
Russel Bay: Denis has written over 200 songs. Before we recorded our first album Denis would bring the raw accoustic song and we would add different nuances to the music and change the lyrics. The songs that we have been writing after the recording of the album tend to be a more of a combined creative process. One of us brings an idea and we work on it together creating the song from scratch.

Which is your music influences??
Denis: We are influenced by any quility made music. Everything from Maroon 5 to Carccas.

What plans do you guys have for the future??
Russel: We try not disclose our future plans until they come true.

Which has been the funniest prank you guys have been or took part while on tour or after a show??
Denis:We are not really a prank type of group.
Igor: But here is a small anecdote. We were performing in Irving Plaza, NYC. The incident took place during a solo on one of the songs. We were so into the song that me and Denis were all over the stage. And right before the pause in the music before he has to sing I hit Denis's face with my forehead and blood started pouring from his nose. The crowd loved it but it was hard for him to sing the rest of the song.

If you guys were stranded in the middle of nowhere after a show or while on tour. The help is 65 miles away from where you guys are, ¿Who would you guys send to look for help? And if while the rest wait, there's no food and the only way to feed yourself is by eating each other, ¿Who would you eat first?
Russel Bay: This is easy. Denis would go get help. We would eat Igor cause he has the most meat. And I would stay and cook, because I am the best cook out of the tree of us.

Which country you guys would love to play?
Denis, Igor, Russel: Japan and England

With which bands you guys would love to share stage??
Russel: Beatles.
Denis: Out the bands that play today, probably Muse.

Are you guys OK, with the direction the band is going actually?
Denis, Igor, Russel: YES.

"The Clox Interview"

“On most admirable things about the band is their enthusiasm for musical nerdiness, and putting pop anthems next to a King Crimsonlike progginess.” - Pancakes and Whiskey

"Toadies LIVE at Gramercy Theater 9/15/10"

The first opener was a band called ‘The Clox’ (I originally had listed “Clocks” as there name and said they were from London.. Through email from the band, I got the correct spelling of the name and their actual hometown, Brooklyn. Apologies to “The Clox” for that little typo…). They hit the stage shortly after 8pm, working with the 3 piece standard bass, guitar, drums. The drummer looked like the dude from the presidents of the united states of America, bald with a white shirt and tie. They did what they could-to all 20 of us. Won the crowd over by the end of the set. - Jay Porks
