THE FANTASTICS

My name is Simon Telfer, I am an Australian songwriter. I have always been a fan of music, particularly the art of a good song, whether it be a great story - or a great voice - or just something that reaches out and affects you and I have reached a point in the ever growing process of writing songs where I am consistently producing great material.

I have placed as a runner up in two categories (folk and country) of the UK Songwriting contest, i recieved an honorable mention in the peacedriven songwriting award and have interest in licensing some of my material for tv/film placement.

I have not pursued the cliché of “fame and fortune” choosing rather to undertake a more personal journey of growth and learning. This has involved many performances in various band line ups in many parts of Australia but my first love of live performance is the intimate setting of an acoustic gig. Currently I perform regularly as such, road testing the songs on an intimate level.

I also have a more traditional band outlet for the music called “The Fantastics”, a group of friends all with similar musical passions and a great pool of musicians, some I have worked with for years and others I have met more recently through a common thread of interest in creating great music. These are the musicians you will hear on most of the recordings.

I have recently decided to start pursuing publishing possibilities and other avenues of expanding the listening audience as I feel I have a very real, uplifting and positive contribution to share.
