"Shorthand for Hungry Pines"

...The Hungry Pines were there, though. They were really great. They’re a fairly new trio—two guitars, one drum set—featuring Lucas Carlyle and Irene Barber and Chrysti Harrison of the Conversation Heart. Irene’s voice is gorgeous. As smooth and pretty as Chrissie Hynde, but with a little bit of a bite. I expected them to sound more abrasive or dirty than they did (as that seems to be the case with many bands boasting only two guitars and drums), but they were surprisingly mellow, with a darker and sexy PJ Harvey vibe at times... - The Stranger

"Megan Seling Blurb"

“You must see them live, it’s where they shine.” - The Stranger

"Seattle PI Live Show Review"

“These guys have two big things going for them, interesting songs and a great singer/guitarist . . . No one in Seattle sounds like them, but three far off bands that do come to mind are Land of Talk, Metric (Emily Haines’ vocals) and the defunct Denali . . . if this record captures what the band did live last night, I predict they’ll be blowing up very soon.”

Lino Fernandez - Seattle PI

"Three Imaginary Girl's Review"

The Hungry Pines have overcome the mold with a seamless blend of two different genres: classic rock and indie-pop, creating a sound to separate the four piece from their peers . . . besides having a unique sound, they put on an amazing show . . . once you hear this band, you’ll definitely be hungry for more. - TIG - Elle
