Biography

Timothy Sean Tyler, the second youngest out of five kids, was born in Brisbane in the spring of 1978. From around the age of 4 or 5 he used to block the TV viewing in the family home with his vacuum cleaner microphone and singing efforts. Timmy was the type of kid all the old ladies loved and were quick to give a cuddle. Timmy continued his passion for music throughout school, studying first the violin and very quickly moving onto the guitar. Tim wrote his first song called ‘Netty’ at age 12, prompted by the first girl to break his heart. After graduating high school in 1995 Tim joined his first band, Demontia, and continued his study of Music and Songwriting with a Cert IV in Performance Arts majoring in Music. Demontia went on to come 4th out of 52 local Brisbane bands during the grand final of ‘Battle of the Bands’ held at the old Normanby back in 1996, but broke up not very long after. It was between Demontia and his continued study that he wrote ‘Limitless Blue’, his ode to the environment. Tim eventually scored a job at the famed Guitar Shop in Brisbane’s Paddington district, it was there he met Rohan Staples and joined much-loved Brisbane funk band, Glockenspiel. While Glockenspiel found regular JJJ play list success they eventually disbanded and not long after Tim joined the band Preference as lead guitarist. Throughout the years Tim had by that stage written a catalog of around 50 of his own original songs. The day after Tim’s best friend and band member left the country in late 2006, effectively breaking up Preference, Tim’s much beloved mother passed away. The song ‘Mum’s Song (Peg)’ is Tim's ode to his much loved and missed mother Peg.

Lyrics

Mum's Song

Written By: Timmy T

The greatest wonders I can imagine can only happen because of you
From the greatest fun that I can have to the deepest of depressing blue
So every moment that slow emotion comes a flowin’ up and over me
I’ll do my best to be the boy you had and the man that you grew me to be

Mum when you go you know I’m gonna miss you
I’m feeling unstable cos’ I am no longer able to hold your hand or kiss you
Mum, found the world between the pages and you left them all to me
With every breath in December I will remember deaths our destiny

I sink into acceptance of the fact I know that this aint the end of life
And I’m thinking how I never thought to thank you but thinkin’ aint no friend of mine
And I know I must go on with my life and not let sadness take control of me
But I don’t know how to keep your love alive right down deep inside the soul of me

Mum when you go you know I’m gonna miss you
I’m feeling unstable cos’ I am no longer able to hold your hand or kiss you
Mum, you found the world between the pages and you left it all to me
With every breath in December I will remember deaths our destiny

Make sure you say everything you’ve got to say,
Yeah, before it’s too late – don’t wait
Make sure you say everything you’ve got to say,
Yeah, before it’s too late – don’t wait
Make sure you say everything you’ve got to say,
Yeah, before it’s too late – don’t wait
Make sure you say everything you’ve got to say,
Yeah, before it’s too late – don’t wait, don’t wait, don’t wait

Mum when you go you know I’m gonna miss you
I’m feeling unstable cos’ I am no longer able to hold your hand or kiss you
Found the world between the pages and you left it all to me
With every breath in December I will remember deaths our destiny

Limitless Blue

Written By: Timmy T

As I look up at that sky
Wishing that I could reach you
I can not help wonder why
The sun doesn’t teach you all about
The warmth that’s found within
And you can slowly begin to lift me
Up there with me, up with you my limitless blue

Those clouds floating so freely away, hey
Never knowing any joy responsibility’s or pain, no pain
Cause you see that its me
That they came to see
On the day that their blue sky’s turned to grey
And I’ll say, and I will pray
God knows I’m praying for you
My limitless blue

Now that I see
This is our reality
It scares me

As I look up at that sky
Wishing that I could reach you…..
