TONY V. COBIN
He has played on the stages of Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, and all throughout the United States. He is renowned bass guitarist Tony Cobin. Tony is a supporter of the continuous evolution of the Black Music (from Gospel to Jazz to R' n' B with a little Pop) based on a "funky" aggressive and involved type of music. Nevertheless, his music is so contagious to drag any bystander a spontaneous participation, based only on the love, the delight and the uncontrollable desire to free the actual body and the spirit in a collective dance. Tony particularly in the southern states is considered one of the best bassist for gospel/funk music. He is innovative of the new generation of music.
Secrets, A Touch of Class, and St. Julian & Co. are Low Country bands Tony has played with. He has recorded with the College of Charleston Gospel Choir, Crystal Brown Gibson and other Low Country groups. He has played and toured with the College of Charleston Gospel Choir since 1997 to 2005. He has toured with Tony & Company a well-known group singing American gospel/soul in Europe.
In 2003 he arrived for the first time in Europe participating with large success to the renowned festival "Lugano Blues To Bop" (Switzerland) subsequently touring in Germany, France, Italy where with the Tony Washington Singers and presently to important shows where come welcomed with large enthusiasm. Every concert is crowded with people fascinated to hear his music. In 2006 he toured with the Davide Van De Sfroos Band at the New Orleans Jazz Festival and all over Europe. Today, Tony is currently working on his debut release that will feature his love for smooth jazz.
