Tracy Lee Nelson is a Native Californian From the La Jolla Indian Reservation, a descendant of the Guassac, Duro family from the Mesa Grande Indian reservation in San Diego California. (Luiseno/Diegueno tribe.) He emerged from the San Diego and Los Angeles areas as a musician with a groundbreaking new perspective of the blues; a Native American's point of view. Life on a Indian Reservation. This Southern California premiere Native American artist has traveled as far as New York City to Seattle Washington to New Mexico sweeping the country with his hard-hitting perspective. Tracy's unique voice, original lyrics and blues guitar work comes straight from the heart, bellowing out stories and issues that should have been spoken of long ago. Thirty-one years of musical experience, Tracy has lent his talent to artists such as the 1970 hit band "REDBONE" ( "Come and Get Your Love ") " Witch Queen of New Orleans". He performed at The 1996 Superbowl in Tempe Arizona. Has shared the stage with blues artist Alvin Youngblood Heart, Indigenous, John Trudell, Floyd Redcrow Westerman, Joanne Shenandoah, Carlos Nakai, Bill Miller, Strawberry Alarm Clock, and many other accomplished musicians. Tracy's variety and playing styles range from the traditional delta blues sounds to the basics of Rock-and-Roll Blues. His masterful guitar work, electric, acoustic blues is something all true blues lovers will enjoy. In addition to his artistic accomplishments Tracy is vary proud of his lifetime commitment, beginning as a teen, to abstinence from drugs and alcohol, which has made him a positive role model for Native Youth. He has spoken out on these issues often. One presentation was spokesperson at a Native American role model conference. He currently holds the honor of being the Tribal Chairman of the La Jolla Indian Reservation.
