Chico D's high energy interpretation of Rock n' Roll was birthed in Matt's attic with the help of whiskey, wrestling matches, and the occasional cowboy movie. Nick and Mike then joined so we relocated to Mike's basement because moving drums is a real pain in the ass.
The band's first release; "The Chico Demo" (Jan 2014) captured a raw, bluesy feel that the band naturally gravitated towards at the time. The single from the Chico Demo "Shakin" was featured in a covermount CD in Classic Rock Magazine and received radio play in Brazil and Europe. Since then, a new and more complex single "Feels like Winter" was released, as well as a music video for "Shakin". Currently, efforts are directed towards recording a full length album which can be expected early in the new year.
Chico Dusty found success early from recorded material, but the band is best captured in a live setting. Starting small and playing private parties and backyards allowed them to sharpen the craft of the live performance. Playing small shows in front of close friends and family quickly evolved into touring southern Ontario and playing some very large stages and festivals.
Young to the rock game, the boys from Chico D are on the upside.
