Bio

United Cities of America continues to be an active band, specializing in company parties. Included are gigs for Lynnwood Honda (30 year company anniversary), Alaska/Horizon Airlines, Sysco, Overlake Hospital, Costco Employees, and Seattle City Light Employees.

With a mixture of great originals and savvy cover tunes, United Cities of America (UCA) have shown themselves to be equally at home playing festivals, corporate gigs, the original club circuit, and downhome blues and rock clubs. The SUMMER TOUR 2007 brought UCA all over Washington State, including Pullman for the NATIONAL LENTIL FESTIVAL, Lake Chelan for the RHYTHMS AT THE LAKE 2007 FESTIVAL, as well as shows along the Skagit River and at scenic Remlinger Farms in Carnation. Highlights of 2008-09 include rocking out Costco Employees Picnic and Overlake Hospital Picnic at Remlinger Farms, an unforgettable New Year's Eve show at Sharkey's Pub in Mountlake Terrace (Dec. 31, 2008) and an every Friday night house gig at Guaymas Restaurant in Bothell (starting November, 2008 and still going strong in April, 2009).

UCA has become a popular band in the Everett area, playing regularly at Monahan's in downtown Everett ( 4 weekends since May). The band also showcased during 2007-8 in Seattle at the Nectar Lounge, The Merchant's Cafe (where they recorded live tracks with C2M2 Music), The U-District Street Fair, The legendary Eastlake Zoo Tavern, and several times up the road at the Tulalip Casino, with popular tombonist, Randy Oxford.

UCA (United Cities of America) is a Seattle area-based band that brings the honesty and message of Bob Marley, mixes it with the smoothness of Santana and the passion of R&B Diva vocals, then adds the spices of timeless songwriting, an ear for dance-club stylings, great live showmanship from high-spirited veterans of the Seattle music scene and spreads it over a thick Latin, Funk-Rock beat.

UCA is the brainchild of Bronx born turned Seattle musician/singer-songwriter Keith Anderson. Known for his energetic live shows, stellar jazz/pop/reggae songs from previous albums “Fire With Fire” (1994), “Somewhere in Your Heart” (2000) and the “I Can Make Believe” remix album (2003), the seeds for UCA began growing out of Keith’s UK solo music tour in 2003.

After working with top-notch British Producer Stuart Wakeman (Jamiroquai, Phil Collins) to produce 5 tracks for the first UCA album “Rise”, Anderson returned to Seattle in 2004 to finish the album and recruit the UCA live band.

Vocalist Lin Broussard brings her high-energy style and engaging personality to the stage with UCA. Here in Seattle by way of Honolulu, Lin established herself as a major female entertainer in Hawaii, performing and touring with Salsa Hawaii, a 7 piece Salsa band, led by Rolando Sanchez.

Bassist Jorge Vazquez holds down the bottom end for UCA. Originally from Vera Cruz, Mexico (along with his brother, Stuart), Jorge has established himself as one of the top musicians and bandleaders in the Seattle area (Camaleon/Tiny Giants) and is also an accomplished songwriter and recording engineer.

Lead guitarist/vocalist James Howard has been playing in the Northwest music scene since his migration from the San Francisco area, where he first established his reputation as an outstanding guitarist and songwriter. He also heads his own band (The James Howard Band) that is rocking every last Thursday of the month at the Highway 99 Club in Seattle. His guitar heroes/influences are an eclectic group; including Carlos Santana, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, and of course Jimi Hendrix.

Drummer/percussionist Stuart Fourlong hails from Vera Cruz, Mexico where he first soaked in all of the musical influences from around the world. He is a full time musician and along with brother Jorge, leads Camaleon.
