Van Wild is a Southern Blue-Pop musical project by half Canadian, half American singer-songwriter Yasmine Van Wilt. The debut EP "Van Wild" is a mix of catchy love, social observation and protest songs that are inspired by Southern landscapes and folklore. Lead Van Wild EP single "Cherry Tree" reached #26 on the MediaBase Indie Label charts in April 2015 and can now be heard on BDS & MediaBase stations throughout the U.S. and Europe. The associated music video is on more than 150 TV stations globally and is on the playlists of American Eagle, Steve Madden, The Four Seasons, Caesar's Palace, Macy's & more!
The follow-up single "Hey Old Man" is already on radios internationally and will hit mainstream American radios in late spring 2015. Sophomore EP Into The Wild was produced at 1092 Studios by Matt Gordon and features Third Man Records multi-instrumentalist Dominic John Davis and drummer Daru Jones. It also feature Kurt Ozan, lead guitarist for Jana Kramer.
In January Van Wild was a selected as a Semi-FInalist for the Belk Southern Artist Showcase and performed for ReverbNation and the media at Nashville's 12th & Porter. Numerous TV & radio live recordings are forthcoming, so stayed tuned!
Yasmine's previous projects have reached #7 in the UK Music Week Charts, beating out Rihanna and Justin Bieber. The associated music videos also generated consistent play on major UK music TV channels. In 2013, EU funding allowed her to perform at a number of European cities. She has been awarded by numerous organisations including Disney. She has a Ph.D. in Creative Writing, is a published author and a classically trained actress and performance artist. Her work has been staged across the globe to critical acclaim.
