WALK THE MOON
spinning cartwheels sleeping on couches running through fields dancing like a bird beating drums so many voices beards into bumblebees and jean jackets and i want! i want!Share
"This Cincy-based crew formed in college over a mutual love of Talking Heads and twisted, inventive Pop. The resulting band reflects those two elements beautifully - WALK THE MOON makes fascinating, danceable Art Pop laced with vintage synth riffs, funky guitar lines, skittish, creative rhythms and huge, layered vocals and harmonies. The band's debut EP "The Anthem" earned WALK THE MOON some deserved notice outside of its local fanbase and helped the group earn a slot at a showcase concert in London (they were the only U.S. band chosen to perform). And the band's captivating live show has grown its fanbase thanks to regular tour dates in NYC and beyond. This fall's "i want! i want!" LP should rocket them even further."
-CityBeat Cincinnati, September 2010

"One of our Best Bands of 2009."
-Arlene's Grocery, New York City
"One of the best young bands I have seen in a long time... various influences, lots of fun"
-Denise, promoter, GNYCTV/Highline Ballroom, New York City
"The young band was a bundle of energy and crowd responded in kind. And you have to respect a group unafraid to wear its influences like a badge of honor... as if to say, 'Yes, we do love Talking Heads, what are you going to do about it?'"
-Mike Breen, CityBeat, review of Midpoint Music Festival 2010
"Walk the Moon has a penchant for writing catchy hooks backed by strong vocals and instrumentation which is evident in songs like 'Stone Cold Fox' and 'Anna Sun'."
-Kami Knake, founder, Bands Under the Radar
"It is rare that on first listening to a band that you find yourself humming the tunes the rest of the day, but that is what I found after listening to WALK THE MOON. With a great sounding lead vocalist, captivating melodies, well crafted songs with lyrical depth and arrangements reminiscent of the great XTC, they will surely go far!"
-Stefan Heller, A&R Representative, City Showcase - Spotlight London
“…[has] a modern, artistic edge. On [The Anthem EP], "Stone Cold Fox" is right on. Beginning with strings, it dives into harder, multi-layered Power Pop with hints of Classic Rock, smart melodic changes and crisp vocals."
-C. A. MacConnell, CityBeat
"Walk the Moon has worldwide appeal."
-Cincinnati Community Press
“…you could easily consider Walk the Moon both modern and retro at the same time. And that’s what makes the band’s sound so fresh."
