Biography

Wendy DeRigo is no stranger to the entertainment industry. The first five years of her life were spent "on the road" with her parents and extended family, who were members of the well-known band, "Family Affair". Wendy benefited from a strong musical foundation throughout her childhood and was introduced to many forms of art.

For eight years Wendy was the lead singer of the Marc Vee Band, which was voted the "Best Band in SW Florida" in 2007. Today, Wendy can be seen performing as a soloist throughout the SW Florida area. Wendy has performed at a wide variety of venues ranging from weddings to some of the most elite private parties and country clubs in Florida. Some of the these places include The Hideaway Beach Club on Marco Island, The Ritz Carlton Resort of Naples, The Hyatt Regency Hotel at Coconut Point, Tween Waters Resort on Captiva Island, The Glam Slam of Miami, The Tiburon Golf and Country Club, Pelican's Nest Country Club, Pelican Isle Yacht Club, The Collier Athletic Club, Quail West Country Club, Casa Ybel Resort, and LaPlaya Resort in Naples. Wendy has also performed for the Jevon Kearse Foundation and NAMM (the National Association of Music Merchants) and was a performer at the 1997 Zen Festival in Tampa, FL where she sang background vocals for an audience of 5,000 people for the legendary "Marley Brothers" and the band "Le Coup". (This national event had video coverage by all of the major T.V. networks including MTV.)

Over the last decade, Wendy has lent her vocals to various recording projects of all genres, including Christian Contemporary, Jazz, R&B, and Reggae. In 2006, Wendy recorded regional and national radio ads for the Clothes Mentor.

Wendy has also been recognized as an accomplished songwriter. In 2001, she wrote the theme song for the Girls of Gainesville, an internet-based reality show and has recently received high acclaim from the International Songwriting Competition and VH1s Song of the Year contests.

Wendy has an "electric" energy on and off stage and her passion for music and the arts has made her well-versed in all areas of the entertainment field. With ten years of dance training; five years of individual flute training; four years of acting experience; two years experience as a college radio disk jockey; and five years spent as a professional vocal instructor, Wendy is knowledgeable and better prepared to meet the demands of a competitive market. In addition, Wendy has worked as a professional model for five years doing a variety of printwork, commercials, and videos. She has won numerous awards for a variety of talent competitions and pageants, including the Miss America Program and has been showcased on "Starmakers", a Ft. Myers, FL based television program.

Lyrics

Full Speed

Written By: Wendy DeRigo

Yeah, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa…

Full speed today
I need to get away
I wanna mute the sound
And erase everything around
Can you feel me?

Ignore the time
Relieve my mind
Pretend it’s all a dream
To make more sense of everything

So when I feel the need
I laugh at it all
To save my dignity

So, tell me what’s up with this crazy living
‘Cause when I look it seems we’re hooked on
Fast action without meaning
Life on the go
When you’re going at full speed
Hit the brakes for sanity
What will be will always be
So let it unfold
It’s all in control

Yeah, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa…

The days fly by
But deep inside
All we crave is peace
And the lasting memories
Why do we fight it?

We ride this ride
Get bumped aside
Knowing day to day
That things will work out anyway

So when you feel the need
Let go of it all
How simple life can be

So, tell me what’s up with this crazy living
‘Cause when I look it seems we’re hooked on
Fast action without meaning
Life on the go
When you’re going at full speed
Hit the brakes for sanity
What will be will always be
So let it unfold
It’s all in control

Yeah, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa…
Whoa, whoa, ooh…
Don’t you let it get to ya, ooh…

So, tell me what’s up with this crazy living
‘Cause when I look it seems we’re hooked on
Fast action without meaning
Life on the go
When you’re going at full speed
Hit the brakes for sanity
What will be will always be
So let it unfold

When you’re going at full speed
Hit the brakes for sanity
What will be will always be
So let it unfold
It’s all in control

Yeah, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa…

Love-N-Hate

Written By: Wendy DeRigo & Jon Q-ba

Yesterday I called you, boy
We were so happy (so happy)
But, believe me, I know
That nothing stays the same
Our love is a game, oh

Complications lead to separation
But we give it one more try
Then adoration, no more hesitation
Floating on a lover’s high
‘Cause I love you, baby, I do
That’s why I say, oh…

Love-n-hate, love-n-hate, love-n-hate
But I love you more
Love-n-hate, love-n-hate, love-n-hate
But I love you more
It’s so foolish
That we do this
Can’t say good-bye
Is it fate, love, or hate that we’re hanging on?

Tell me what we’re doing here
Will it ever last forever?
This story is repeating
Pages from the past
Again and again, oh

Such emotion,
Passion, and devotion
Swearing we could touch the sky
Then, like the oceans waves
In rolling motion
Fear caves in
And tempers fly
But, I love you, baby, I do
Don’t leave me this way, oh

I’m not with this separation
Let’s discuss this
Hear my explanation
I’ve got you
Plus two
On the side
But you’re the one
That keeps my heart alive
Ma, love me
Don’t hate on a man
That gives you time
Like hourglass
So, let’s not waste these moments
And focus on how we feel the magic
Like “hocus-pocus”
Them others are just sex
Me and you is hotter than spandex
It’s only you, ma
There is no next
I ain’t know that you felt like this (I didn’t know, ma)
I surrender the tender part of me
That sends a dozen roses
As long as your door never closes
I will come to love on those incredible lips
And hips and thighs
And angel eyes
I’ll never say good-bye

It’s so foolish
That we do this (It’s so foolish)
Can’t say good-bye (Can’t say good-bye)
Is it fate, love, or hate that we’re hanging on?
It’s so foolish
That we do this (It’s so foolish)
Can’t say good-bye (Can’t say good-bye)
Is it fate, love, or hate that we’re hanging on?

All of my fears just keep on coming
Maybe I should just keep on running
What do I do when you’re lying and fronting
Give me it all or nothing

Oh, why can’t you see
What this crazy drama is doing to me?

Love-n-hate, love-n-hate, love-n-hate
But I love you more
Love-n-hate, love-n-hate, love-n-hate
But I love you more
It’s so foolish
That we do this
Can’t say good-bye
Is it fate, love, or hate that we’re hanging on?

All of my fears just keep on coming
Maybe I should just keep on running
What do I do when you’re lying and fronting
Give me it all or nothing
All of my fears just keep on coming
Maybe I should just keep on running
What do I do when you’re lying and fronting
Give me it all or nothing (all…)

Don’t leave me this way, oh…
Don’t leave me this way, oh…

Just For Tonight

Written By: Wendy DeRigo

When I’m with you
I know I’m right where I ought to be (yeah)
When I’m with you
I feel the best emerge in me
And when I touch your body
I get lit from inside
And feel so alive
That’s why it’s such a
Crime of two hearts
When we’re apart
So, come on over…

Just for tonight
‘Till morning light
I want you close (so close)
Let me feed your soul
Baby, come over now
Just for tonight
Make it alright
I can’t take no more
So, what ya waiting for?

Wanna thank you (wanna thank you, baby)
For all the freedom to be me (yeah)
Wanna thank you
For every cherished memory
And even through the distance
And all of the “why’s”
I do realize
This love is not defined by miles
But, baby, once in a while
I need to hold you…

Just for tonight
‘Till morning light
I want you close (so close)
Let me feed your soul
Baby, come over now
Just for tonight
Make it alright
I can’t take no more (no)
So, what ya waiting for?

Waiting so patiently
For life to lead us
From dreams to reality
Bridge the space between us
Until then I’ll fantasize, compromise,
Memorize all the love reflecting deep within your eyes, baby
But take this moment…

Just for tonight (just come on over, babe)
‘Till morning light (Why don’t you come and feed my soul?)
I want you close (so close)
Let me feed your soul
Baby, come over now
Just for tonight
Make it alright
I can’t take no more
So, what ya waiting for?

Just for tonight (just come on over, babe)
‘Till morning light (Why don’t you come and feed my soul?)
I want you close (so close)
Let me feed your soul (feed your…baby, let me feed your soul)
Baby, come over now
Just for tonight
Make it alright
I can’t take no more
So, what ya waiting for?

Red Flag

Written By: Wendy DeRigo

It all began rather innocently
Took you as quite the man (hey)
Hypnotized when you smiled at me
Now I know I should have ran, huh?
Felt kind of hesitant
But the feeling came and went
So what was I doin’
Fallin’ for the fantasy instead?
Didn’t take much time
For the warning signs
To show the direction this was goin’
Now I’m movin’ on...

Red flag
It’s a little mystery
It’s just too bad
But here’s where I walk away...
We have nothing meant to be
So I won’t be here to see
Another red flag
‘Cause I’m not waitin’...

It’s not perfection that I’m looking for
Not too much I demand (hey)
But the way you always show me love
Contradicts what I am
Now, what about respect
Or the truth I should get
Why do you insist on always being
The one with more control
Everything’s in vain
Not a single thing to gain
Accepting your lame excuses no more
‘Cause I’m out the door...

Red flag
It’s a little mystery
It’s just too bad
But here’s where I walk away...
We have nothing meant to be
So I won’t be here to see
Another red flag
‘Cause I’m not waitin’...

Break it down
Break it down
It’s time to turn it around
Yeah, I know what I need now
And it ain’t you
Break it down
Break it down
It’s time to turn it around
Yeah, I know what I need now
And it ain’t you (No!)

Red flag
It’s a little mystery
It’s just too bad
But here’s where I walk away...
We have nothing meant to be
So I won’t be here to see
Another red flag
‘Cause I’m not waitin’...

Red flag
It’s a little mystery
It’s just too bad
But here’s where I walk away...
We have nothing meant to be
So I won’t be here to see
Another red flag
‘Cause I’m not waitin’...

Break it down
Break it down
It’s time to turn it around
Yeah, I know what I need now
And it ain’t you
Break it down
Break it down
It’s time to turn it around
Yeah, I know what I need now
And it ain’t you
