Bio

As the lights go dim in the club, a slim, reasonably icy self proclaimed King O Tha Cack steps on stage and belts out a raspy "I step up in the club, and put my mack down..." The crowd goes wild...
This experience can only be witnessed at the live performance of one particularly resourceful young entrepreneur... Young Dirt, born CJ Ross, has been a force to been reckoned with since his younger days in North Carolina "performing" only in a high school lunchroom battling and in cyphers...

Over the years his lyrical and engineering expertises have shown great improvement, and now adding production of the girth of his own tracks has made him a definite Triple Threat. The former point man of the popular Ground Up rap trio (former member Black James Bond, and labelmate Grain) could be seen performing in almost any of the hottest clubs in Europe anytime from Winter 2006 to Summer 2007, but was forced into temporary retirement when deployed to combat in Baghdad at the peak of his musical development.

However, the young rapper has never been one to crumble in the face of adversity. Even in the midst of one of the world’s most controversial wars ever, he continued chasing his dreams of becoming a household name promoting his music and performing live in the desert is his downtime, leading to his collaboration with another up and coming label, Dyme Squad and newfound production genious Lavron James. Now about to embark on his first chance to fully pursue his musical career, it seems that Young Dirt and his team are definitely on their P's and Q's...

From a various cast of solid celebrity guest appearances on the as of yet untitled studio album, to the versatility of the music (anything from upbeat East Coast lyricism, Dirty South bounce, and West Coast influenced Club Anthems, produced by long-time production collaborator G-Smoov, to down to earth Storytelling and Real Life stories of his own) the movement this artist is beginning seems to have the potential to be epic.

The public anxiously and patiently awaits his next steps... 2009!
