"Concert Review: Hard Edge Radio 2nd Anniversary Show at Diesel Concert Lounge in Chesterfield Township, MI. 01-Mar-2014"

Next on stage was a band that I should have known but didn’t. Bloodline Riot have all of the pieces together to make it as a national act. 58,000 ‘likes’ on Facebook and I honestly think they deserve more. Thankfully they drew in a significant crowd despite the weather. The fans showed a ton of support. This is a headline act without question in my book. I can’t wait to see these guys again (and again… and again). They have a great stage presence all around, but the guitar work of Jason Caine really stood out. - National Rock Review

"Interview - Bloodline Riot"

Detroit, Michigan rockers Bloodline Riot are on a mission to set the world on fire with their unique brand of catchy progressive rock music which is also heavily influenced by several other metal and alternative genres. Led by guitarist Jason Caine and bassist Amber Cat, the band has the sound and more than enough talent to back up the mission at hand. Beyond their unique sound and obvious talent, the two band leaders also possess a strong work ethic and a business model to match their top notch musicianship. Simply put, the pair appears to have all areas covered to reach that goal of rock stardom that has been so elusive to many bands before.

So what could be left to add to this equation and provide a shot of adrenaline the band needs to get over the last step of the mountain to rock stardom? It could just be one small piece of the puzzle that creates an element of additional uniqueness. With that, enter the band’s newest member; the young female phenom vocalist that goes by the simple, yet memorable name of Sarai. When we say new, we mean new! Put it this way, RockRevolt™ learned of this newest band development literally hours before our scheduled sit down with the stunning and quite candid bassist Amber Cat.

Interview with Amber Cat of Bloodline Riot

Rick/RR: Amber, great to chat with you. How’s it going?

Amber/BR: Hi Rick, I’m good how are you? Shoot away – whatever you want to ask me. I’m probably the most candid person in the band so you might have to do a lot of editing! (Laughs)

Rick/RR: I look forward to saying in a year or two from now that I have had the honor of interviewing you before you blew up as a band!

Amber/BR: (Laughs)! You are too sweet! Thank you for the interest. I truly appreciate it.

Rick/RR: The band has accomplished a lot and gained a ton of momentum in a short period of time since forming as a super unit if you will of various Detroit metro bands.

Amber/BR: Yeah, we kind of pooled talent together from a couple of different bands. That was sort of the intent from the get go. I think there are a lot of great musicians here (Detroit metro), but we wanted to at least pool people that were the best of their band, you know what I mean? Not just to throw some names together or anything like that, but different influences, the people who were serious about music as well as devoted to it.

With that, I don’t know if you know or not about all of our recent developments? We have a big change that just happened in our band.

Rick/RR: I just got wind of what I think you are going to talk about actually a few hours ago! (Laughs) This could put a whole tailspin on what we are going to talk about tonight it looks like.

Amber/BR: (Laughs) I know! We just announced we have a new singer in the band and it is a big transition for us. It is a lady instead of a guy and she has a way different background and a completely different style. I am curious; I don’t even know exactly where it is going right now in the material and all the cool things that are happening for us. She has an amazing voice and I am really excited about it. Our first show is on January 19th and it will be Sarai’s premier show and we are really excited about it. We are going to do a lot of the same material from the EP Keys and Clockwork. We also have a lot of new material and we want to get back into the studio with her. We really just want to keep things moving forward and not lose any momentum.

Rick/RR: Please introduce our readers to your newest singer.

Amber/BR: Well, her name is Sarai and she has a really strong voice with some great bluesy influences. She can scream and be heavy, but she can be softer too. We are excited about that; there aren’t a lot of rock bands that have two girls in them. She and I get along great and the chemistry is there so I’m really looking forward to working with her. The song writing has just been flowing naturally as is the material as it is originating. Jason (guitar/vox) starts out with the song structure and hands it off to the rest of us and we write our own parts. I really like how everything is coming together with the new sound. She has a lot to bring to the table. She’s young, but has a strong background and has been onstage with other bands.

We had previously auditioned our original singer (Micahel Hughes) less than two years ago. In that short period, I think our third show ever was the contest that we won to play Rockstar Uproar last year. The first year, we got nominated for six Detroit music awards which is just unheard of. We didn’t win any of them, but just to be nominated in so many different categories was great. We are just trying to keep everything going and fresh. Stay on the verge with what is going on with rock music as it - Rock Revolt Magazine

"Who Are “Bloodline Riot”? Subba-Cultcha is glad you asked…"

We’ve heard good things about Bloodline Riot, which is unsuprising as they’ve been making a name for themselves recently. Among many accolades, Bloodline Riot have been nominated for 6 Detroit Music Awards for 2012 including Best Hard Rock/Metal Group, Best Rock/Pop Recording for “Burn”, Best Live Performance and member Jason Caine has been nominated for the 2nd year for both Outstanding Rock/Pop Instrumentalist & Rock/Pop Songwriter, as well as singer Michael Hughes being nominated for Outstanding Rock/Pop Vocalist.

As you may have guessed they’re Detroit based and the band features Michael Hughes on lead vocals, Jason Caine on lead guitar, Amber Cat on bass and Matt Burdette on drums. We caught up with Jason to find out a little more.

SC – How are you? Where does this Q&A find you?

JC – I’m doing great guys! Thanks for asking! Things are going great with the band. We’re hard at work on several different things right now including filming a new video with director Roy Warner, writing new material for our next album, planning a new tour & also some label interest and much more that we want to keep a surprise for the time being. All in all, we’re really busy with great things on the table.

SC – How did the recording sessions for your latest release go? Did you achieve all you’d planned to?

JC – We recorded our latest album, “Keys and Clockwork” at Pearl Sound Studios in Canton, Michigan with producer Chuck Alkazian and self-released it in August 2012. Recording at Pearl Sound with Chuck was an amazing experience. Some amazing artists have recorded at Pearl Sound with Chuck including Filter, Ted Nugent, Pop Evil, Elton John, Christina Aguilera and many more, so working with him in that environment was a true honor as well as a great experience. His professionalism & ear for what works in a song really worked well with what we were hoping to accomplish. Not to mention he’s one of the most entertaining guys I’ve met. I couldn’t be happier with the final product!

SC – What goals did you set yourself before you started recording? Did you do anything differently this time, on purpose? If so, why?

JC – My personal goal was to make sure that I was absolutely 100% happy with every take & the overall sound of my guitars, as well as the recording as a whole. It is not uncommon to hear musicians say that they wish they’d done things differently months after their album is released, but I can say with all honesty that I wouldn’t change a thing. We took as many takes as it took make sure everything was solid, made sure to really listen to what we’d recorded, and took some time to chew on what we had to make sure we were really happy with it.

SC – What do you feel are your own limitations when it comes to creating/writing music?

JC – If there was a limitation, I would say that I wish there was just more time in the day to really focus on songwriting. We do our best to write as often as possible and to create as much music as we can, but being that we’re go-getters, there never seems to be enough time in the day. I always want to write more and more and more!

SC – What do you consider to be your best 3 songs, and tell us the inspiration behind them?

JC – I’d consider our best 3 songs to be “Burn”, “Pendulum” & “Element”. Our singer, Michael Hughes writes the lyrics for Bloodline Riot & he does an amazing job of really creating a mood with his writing. “Burn” is about charging forward and creating something new, letting the old ways “burn” & starting fresh. It was the first song we wrote & the first single. “Pendulum” is about being aware of what’s going on around you & not being ignorant or clouded by others in your goals because the clock is always ticking. “Element” is about being positive and not letting others dictate your life. It is about doing what you need to do to make your dreams a reality.

SC – What do you love and what do you hate about life on the road? Tell us your funniest tour experience yet?

JC – Being on the road is great! I enjoy the freedom of seeing new places, playing for new friends & the fresh experience of it all. The only minor complaint about the road would be when it comes to sleep. You never know what kind of “bed” you may end up with for the night! Probably the funniest tour story that comes to mind would be when an ex-drummer of ours woke us all up in the middle of the night screaming “Help, Help! POLICE!” at the top of his lungs in his sleep because he was having a nightmare about someone stealing his drums! At least that’s the most politically correct story I can tell! There’s others that are pretty raunchy and funny…

SC – How would you describe your own/bands sound, or what do you hate being labelled as?

JC – I would describe Bloodline Riot as high-energy, melodic Active Rock with a dose of Metal.

SC – Who is currently moving you musically at the moment?

JC – Right now I’ve been following the development of a band called Six Side Di - Subba-Cultcha Magazine

"Bloodline Riot is keeping the phrase "Detroit Rock City" Alive"

Bloodline Riot is keeping the phrase “Detroit Rock City” Alive.
If you look around pretty much any city with a thriving music scene, you’ll find that band that is made up of a collection of musicians who have paid their dues for years in various bands who finally find each other and the right combination for a great album or more. In Detroit, MI, we have found another example of such a band in Bloodline Riot. The collection of veteran Detroit rockers came together and released their first single as Bloodline Riot entitled “Burn” in May, 2011.

This release was no garage band release. It was produced by Andy Patalan (Sponge, Taproot) and mixed and mastered by Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Trust Company). A quick listen to “Burn” will have you eager to hear the rest of the band’s EP “Keys and Clockwork”. Each song on the 4 song EP is a strong effort worthy of some significant radio play. In fact the band started to catch some of that coveted air time with “Burn” in their hometown, as well as stations in Las Vegas, Texas and beyond.

Bloodline Riot’s music has a great combination of melodic verses, meshed with a pounding backbeat that keeps you energized throughout all of the tunes. There is a certain versatility to their sound that has a bit of something for the metal fan, while at the same time finding some pleasing choruses for the fan of more progressive sounding rock. Perhaps the best example of this style is also perhaps the strongest tune on the CD: “Element”. The blending of sounds in Bloodline Riot’s style seems to have been recognized by the live music world as well, as they have shared the stage with a diverse collection of acts such as Drowning Pool, Fuel, Taproot, Soil, Nonpoint, Powerman 5000, Dope, 12 Stones, The Dreaming and many others.

Bloodline Riot’s EP “Keys and Clockwork” features some nice work from guitarist Jason Caine. I had the chance to catch up with Jason and ask him about Bloodline Riot’s music and the music scene in Detroit.
K-rock You guys hail from Detroit which has had its challenges in the recent economic times. What is the Rock and Roll Scene like there now?

Jason: The Rock scene in Detroit is interesting. There is an amazing amount of raw musical talent in Detroit. I’m proud and honored to say that I know a lot of amazing bands and musicians who easily hold up to what’s being played out there on mainstream radio. That said, the Detroit music scene has had it’s share of challenges due to the economy as well as smoking being banned in clubs/bars. The thing about the people of Detroit is this however: the people of Detroit are not only some of the hardest working people you’ll meet, but they’re survivors. I’m happy to say that despite the challenges to the scene, I know bands that are thriving and adapting to the changing environment. I think to be a musician/band with any sort of longevity, you have to be adaptable, strategic as well as talented and versatile. I know several bands that have been signed to label deals within this past year or so & have been touring with some of the biggest Rock acts out there. Ghosts of August, Battlecross, & We Came as Romans, for example, are all Detroit-based acts that have been doing amazing things and a great example of what I’m talking about. Also, we’re fortunate that Detroit is considered a main touring hub for national acts as well, so that definitely helps local artists gain exposure to the mainstream audience through opening slots. Detroit is alive and well as far as our music scene and gaining momentum every day.
K-rock: Tell me about the video for “Element”. Where as it shot? Anything special about it?
Jason: The video for “Element” is a live performance video that was shot by our good friends Nick Barry & Terrance Centofanti at Visual Zen studios. It’s kind of funny because the video was taken during a live performance we played at the Detroit Pub in Clinton Township, MI. It was all just one video take, since we were playing a show, without any staging or real plan other than us playing our show. I was unfamiliar with their work at the time, but once I saw the final product I was really impressed. Especially since we weren’t playing to a click or the recording of the song itself, yet they managed to sync everything perfectly, grabbed some amazing footage and made us look great!
K-rock: You guys (and gal) come from different bands. Did you know each other well before forming this band or was it an audition type of thing?

Jason: Amber (bassist of Bloodline Riot) and I have been in bands together now for roughly 5-6 years. Our former band was a completely different kind of band. It was more of a Pop Punk type of thing where I sang and played guitar with much more of an emphasis on songwriting. However, I’ve always considered myself more of a guitarist than a singer and studied guitar in college, so to shake things up, I’d throw in a crazy shred guitar solo in the middle of our set that led into one of our - Mid-Atlantic Rock Reviews

"Bloodline Riot - Keys and Clockwork - CD Review"

Michael Hughes (lead vocals), Jason Caine (lead guitar), Amber Cat (bass, backing vocals), and Matt Burdette (drums), complete this Detroit-based quartet of talented and experienced musicians from previous bands (Konniption Fit, Seasons of Eden, and The Way West) come together to form a technically sound rock band that still has the ability to rock your face off and is comprised of melodic guitars, pounding drums, and thoughtful, yet powerful vocals for a unique sound offered nowhere else. Bloodline Riot has played alongside such bands as Sevendust, Taproot, Fuel, Nonpoint, and many more. They have also played on the Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival and, as a result, has developed a high-energy, in-your-face style of live show.

Produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Trust Company), at Pearl Sound Studios in Canton, Michigan, their EP “Keys and Clockwork” brings Bloodline Riot to the forefront of the rock world. This short, four track, CD (which actually has drums recorded by Matt Marriott) opens listeners eardrums to a sound that will get your blood flowing and your fist pumping.

If you are looking for impressive solos and catchy, heavy guitar riffs, all the tracks on Keys and Clockwork offer a complete mix. Heart pounding rock anthems coupled with an arena rock sound can be found in the opening track “Gemini” as well as the final song, “Burn,” which invokes a motivation in you to get up and change your life for the better. With hints of electro in the beginning of the EP with “Gemini” and the end with “Burn,” the album comes full circle.

Some distortion on Michael Hughes’ vocals in “Burn” creates a very different sound for a rock band. A solo reminiscent of Avenged Sevenfold’s Synyster Gates can be found in “Pendulum,” along with a “Wake up!” chant that goes against the hypnotic effects of a pendulum. The heaviest song of the four, by far, is “Element,” and has solid, guttural riffs along with layered vocals to create a more three-dimensional depth of rock.

Even though this release is just four short tracks and has a runtime of under 15 minutes, there is no lack of rocking in this EP. In fact, the only complaint I have for Keys and Clockwork is the fact that it is so short. I look forward to being able to hear more music from Bloodline Riot in the future. - Backstage VIP's

"Best New Indie"

Finding new bands and music that you love is one feeling I can say never gets old! After almost 13 years of being in the industry somehow or another, I can honestly say I get that same amazing feeling every time I find “that great new band”. Suprisingly, after so long I had no clue that Detroit, Michigan had such an amazing music scene!! Over the course of a few months, I’ve found numerous bands from the area that are more than IPOD worthy. Of these, Bloodline Riot(www.bloodlineriot.com) has been one that has constantly stuck out to me.

Formed in early 2011, Bloodline Riot came together with 4 likeminded musicians with a passion. A passion for what they do and the music they love. This project brought together a group of 4 “Do it yourselfers” each who bring different skill sets to the band, not just in the instruments they play or vocals they do, but beyond as well. It’s not just a job to them, but a lifelong love of music. Though the bands existence seems brief so far, this band is packed full of years of experience between them. Jason and Amber Cat come from a widely popular Band Konniption Fit, Matt from Dryvell and Mike from Seasons of Eden. It’s one of those mixes that has come together like it was meant to be. All four have an amazing drive and desire to put out great music for the masses, yet a humility that helps keep them connected to their fanbase.

Their name, Bloodline Riot even encompasses the feel of what they wish their music to express. Bloodline: For the musical ties that have brought them together as a Family. Riot: For their desire to ever press the boundaries of the norm. They want to be the band you can relate to, while not copying the sound or styles of bands that came before. Of which they want their sound to be their own.

Currently in the studio, the band is working with Producer Chuck Alkazian of Pearl Sound Studios. If this name does not sound familiar, maybe the acts in which he’s worked will. Pop Evil,Trust Company and many other greats have used his production skills. Now of which he can add Bloodline Riot to the list of greats he has worked with. Though the cd is not released as of yet, they do have their notable track “Burn” available as a single on cd. If their single is any hint to what you can expect from the rest of their songs, we have a great musical ride in store for us!! The Full length album should be available in Mid-Winter of 2012. After which, I’m assured it will be available everywhere! So all you fans of music downloads and cd’s alike should be pleased to hear this. Till then, you can catch their tunes on an ever expanding network of FM and Net Radio!

Though their current project has been around for less than a year, they’ve had a wide aray of high points so far. Most Recently, they were featured on 89x (www.89xradio.com) as the feature artist for The Motor City Minute. During this time, their track “Burn” Was aired on the jumbotron at the November 23rd, 2011 Red Wings Game at The Joe Louis Arena. Although, I would have to say their most notable accomplishment so far would be the Rockstar Uproar Battle of the bands. During this process, they won the right to play Rockstar Uproars Detroit show at DTE Energy Theater. This was an event which they shared the stage with many big named bands. Among these: Avenged Sevenfold, Sevendust, Escape The Fate, Three Days Grace, Art of Dying, Seether, Black Tide and a few others. To top this off, out of the original 5000 bands who entered the B.O.B. they were one of the final 26 bands. Though they didn’t win this, they’ve not let this stop them at all. It’s driving the band to keep pushing ahead. I might sound a bit biased, but for a band who’ve only been around for less than a year, it’s not a bad year at all!! If this is any hint of what their career has in store for them, I look for it to be an amazing adventure for us and them as well.

When asked what their plans for the future hold, the short answer would be many! It appears there will be no stopping these guys. Though in the studio now, they’re already eying the future possibilities of what’s to come after. From what I was told, they plan to widely tour after this album. They’ve maintained their local shows during the recording process, but hinted at widening their touring area once the cd is a finished product. December 9th, they’re on the bill for a “Holiday Themed” event at the Crofoot Ballrom. Hopefully in the near future, we can all catch a Bloodline Riot show in our areas.

To be honest, I could write or talk about this band endlessly. They’re a really great group of individuals who are in this business for what seems to be all the right reasons. I must wholeheartedly admit I’m looking forward to see what happens down the road with these guys. I’d highly suggest them to anyone. With this said, go check out www.bloodlineriot.com , search for them on Facebook and hit them up with a like. Be sure to offer your support to these guys, it’s indie bands - Renegade Radio

"Bloodline Riot Takes Over Detroit"

Some of us are born with ink in our veins; born with the ability to create beauty out of words. Some people are born with steel and venom; the power to fight and protect. Some people are born with intellect, law, or a nurturing nature running through their blood.

And some, some are born with a heartbeat that isn't quite normal; a bloodline that surges with something different; something raging.

It beats to the rhythm of Rock, it thumps to the sounds of drums and guitar riffs, and it pounds to the cadence of edge, of power, of music. And with that heartbeat is a bloodline that is swelling with rebellion, originality, and innovation; a riot that stirs up from birth within these individuals that will never go away. Their hearts will beat louder, the blood will flow faster, and the riot will grow stronger until something so great emerges...that they call it: A Bloodline Riot!!!

At the DTE Energy Theater this Summer, one lucky Detroit band won a slot to perform at the UPROAR Festival. This band was voted on by a panel of judges as well as a vote from the fans.

The competition was sponsored by places such as Best Buy Music Gear. Bloodline Riot was the lucky, albeit overly deserving band to win this honor.

“We are so super thankful for this opportunity and definitely don’t take anything for granted!” Bloodline Riot’s bassist, Amber Cat stated after the festival.

“Uproar was amazing. It was everything we wanted it to be. We showed up and everything was extremely organized, everything ran smoothly and everyone treated us with the upmost respect,” explained guitarist, Jason Caine outside of the Token Lounge in Westland. “It was refreshing because sometimes you win contests and you go into these things and you get pushed aside or whatever but it wasn’t like that at all. Everyone was so professional and the sound on the stage was awesome! The crowd was amazing too! It was an incredible experience that doesn’t end there.”

Their excitement after the festival was nothing short compared to how ecstatic they were to speak with us a few months ago, before this all evolved.

Early this summer I had the blessing to meet with the band (excluding unfortunately their extremely talented drummer, Matt Marriott) at a Redford pub for a chat. This was several weeks before anyone (including the band) knew about the festival contest. Jason Caine, Amber Cat, and lead singer Michael Hughes spoke to me with a craving and intensity for their music that cannot fully be explained.

“We all work as hard as possible on every sin- gle song that it really means a lot to us to get the positive responses that we have so early on in our career as a band,” says Hughes.

Readers should know that this is a huge component to their early success. The band works together like a well-oiled Rock Machine to create songs that are completely fresh sounding. Amber writes her own bass parts, Matt his own drums, Michael and Jason do a majority of the lyrical writing and general sounds behind each track and together they harvest beauty.

The band formed just several months ago after Jason and Amber (current members of another popular Detroit band, Konniption Fit) felt the desire and ‘fire’ inside to expel their harder and darker sides.

Needing to let out their rock and metal personalities on stage, the two set out in search of two members that would fit this mold. “We really needed to find a drummer and singer who didn’t just drum and sing, ya

Jordan Sarah Weatherhead and Photos by Merideth Gillhespy

Know?” Amber Cat told me in the dark bar. “We also needed them to be like family.”

It is clear that the band has found just what they were in search of; brothers. Bloodline Riot is one of the closest groups I’ve ever seen, not only in friendship, but in sound. In every way, this band of hard-working rockers molds perfectly. On their hottest single, “Burn” you hear the intense fervor for what they do. It is one of the most unique and entertaining songs I’ve heard from a band of this caliber in a long time. It is no wonder why it is featured on The Homeboy Show on 89x frequently and soon to be featured on Flint’s Banana 101.5 Radio in their ever popular “Cock Fight”.

“We’re all extreme workaholics,” Jason says. “We all have so many talents that we use within this band to help it grow better and stronger.”

Not only do they get along exceptionally well and produce mind blowing, edgy songs, but this foursome of supremacy works hard day in and day out to yield the results they want. They are molding their own destiny. While some of us sit around and wish on a star for our fate to reach us; they create it. They crosspromote their band in as many ways as you can think of, they fill the net with their sounds, images, and personas; and what’s more, they promote not only themselves, but you too!

"Locally Known: Bloodline Riot knows how to rock"

By MATTHEW CROMWELL
Special to The Oakland Press

Bloodline Riot will perform at The Magic Bag in Ferndale on Friday, Aug. 19, The Machine Shop in Flint on Sept. 9, and The Hayloft in Mount Clemens on Sept. 10.

Genre: Rock

Hometown: Royal Oak

Current Location: Detroit

Bloodline Riot, comprising some of Metro Detroit’s most versatile musicians, is a hard-hitting, pulse-thumping band based in Royal Oak with a distinctive yet familiar sound that leaves listeners nodding their heads and begging for more.

Bloodline Riot is an exciting fusion of today’s style and yesterday’s sound, breathing new life into the classic rock genre by appealing to both teenagers and adults.

Bloodline Riot, combining the talents of Metro Detroit’s most promising independent musical acts, was conceived by Jason Caine and Amber Cat — members of the Detroit Music Award nominated pop/punk band Konniption Fit — as a heavier, rock-inspired alternative to their current band.

“We wanted to form a group that had a heavier edge,” lead guitarist Jason Caine said. “But was still commercially viable to the masses with an original sound.”

Following the acquisition of drummer Matt Marriot from the local punk-rock band Dryvel, Bloodline Riot added the talent of vocalist Michael Hughes — formerly of the band Seasons of Eden — to their all-star line-up.

“We wanted to find members from the area that were great musicians,” Caine said. “And it was very important to find members that felt like family.”

Despite being formed only a few months ago, Bloodline Riot has already amassed an impressive cult following. Since spring, the band has performed at the Rack N Roll, The Dog Daze of Summer Festival, and the Stars & Stripes Festival in Mount Clemens. Individually, each member of the band has performed at a majority of Metro Detroit’s biggest venues, including the DTE Energy Theatre, the Royal Oak Music Theatre, the Emerald Theater and St. Andrew’s Hall.

“Collectively as a band, we’ve all played almost everywhere,” Caine said. “We’ve been fortunate enough to have played some really great shows in the past and we look forward to bringing that experience to Bloodline Riot for more of the same!”

Aside from delivering jaw-dropping live performances, Bloodline Riot offers thoughtfully inspired lyrics that prove they spend just as much time crafting their songs as they do promoting their image.

“Songwriting is a completely different talent than playing an instrument,” Caine said. “For the past few years I’ve been focusing much more on the elements of what makes a great song. It’s my goal to be as balanced as I can be as a songwriter and as a proficient musician.”

The extent of Bloodline Riot’s talent is on full display during a majority of their songs, particularly “Burn (Extended Version).” The track starts with a hypnotic drum pattern before escalating into a ’70s-inspired rock tune guaranteed to hold your attention until the closing chords.

For Bloodline Riot, the opportunity to snag a major record deal is both realistic and far-fetched, considering the excessive number of local bands and solo artists emerging from the Motor City.

“There are so many amazingly talented musicians and bands in Detroit that deserve recognition way beyond what they’re given,” Caine said. “Our local scene here is an amazing thing, and I feel very fortunate to be a part of it.”

Bio

Bloodline Riot was formed by members from 3 different prominent Rock bands in the Detroit area. "The idea was to find the best members from bands that we respected & that had made an impact musically. It was also important that we all had the same positive outlook, work-ethic & drive to take Bloodline Riot as far as possible.", says guitarist Jason Caine.

Upon the complete formation of the band, Bloodline Riot set out with a plan of action to make their strategy a reality. The first song that Bloodline Riot had written, "Burn" was soon recorded at the Loft Studios in Saline, MI with producer Andy Patalan (Taproot, Sponge) & mixed & mastered by Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Trust Company) at Pearl Sound Studios in Canton, MI. The song was immediately put into rotation on 88.7FM (CIMX Windsor/Detroit) as well as spread throughout the country to internet radio stations. "Coming from different bands, we were fortunate that there was some buzz going on as to what we were up to. People were very curious to hear what the end product of these 3 different bands collaborating would sound like. 88.7FM has been supportive since day one, & we were very fortunate to see "Burn" winning contests for Most Requested on various radio stations around the country." says Caine.

Based on the success of "Burn", Bloodline Riot pushed forward full-throttle to record their independently released EP, "Keys and Clockwork" with producer Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Trust Company, Saving Abel, etc.) at Pearl Sound Studios in Canton, MI during the Winter of 2011/2012. Showcasing Bloodline Riot's diversity in the Active Rock genre, "Keys and Clockwork" provides a template of strong hooks, songwriting & lyrical content as well as musical chops. "Musically, we want to write music that makes you want to drive fast, move your body or have sex." Caine laughs and continues, "When our singer joined the band, he brought in some very deep & meaningful lyrics that really bring an emotional context to the music. If you listen to his lyrics, not only will you find something you can relate to, but they will make you think about your life & what you may be able to do to make it better. Combining these elements, you get the thrust of what Bloodline Riot is about."

Keeping the pace at non-stop, Bloodline Riot won the Ernie Ball/Best Buy Music Gear Battle of the Bands in Aug '11, and earned a slot on the Rockstar Uproar Festival Detroit line-up at DTE Energy Theater to play with Avenged Sevenfold, Three Days Grace, Seether, Bullet for my Valentine, Escape the Fate, Sevendust, Black Tide, Art of Dying & Hell or Highwater. The band has also shared the stage with nationals such as Drowning Pool, Taproot, Otherwise, Fuel, Nonpoint, Soil, Powerman5000, Dope, Otherwise, 12 Stones, James Durbin (American Idol), The Dreaming (feat. Stabbing Westward vocalist Chris Hall) & more.

Bloodline Riot was selected twice to be featured during the 89X radio Motor City Minute at Joe Louis Arena. The first time during the Detroit Red Wings vs Calgary Flames Hockey game at Joe Louis Arena on Wed Nov 23 2011. Their single, "Burn" was showcased during the second period intermission cut to a video and presented on the Jumbotron.
