Bumbershoot Festival 2008

One of America’s largest urban music and arts festivals, Bumbershoot takes place at Seattle Center, the glorious 74-acre park built to house the 1962 World’s Fair. The Festival takes full advantage of Seattle Center’s fantastic amenities, including indoor theaters, outdoor stages, a world-class opera house, sprawling green lawns and a rockin’ outdoor stadium. Bumbershoot is produced by One Reel, the independent, not for profit producer of the Northwest's premier arts events. Bumbershoot®: Seattle’ Music & Arts Festival occurs over Labor Day weekend on Saturday, August 30 – Monday September 1, 2008.

More than 250 scheduled events provide 150,000 Bumbershooters with an engaging mix of entertainment and spectacle - from regional favorites to international superstars. Thousands of artists, including poets, painters, dancers, divas, comedians, filmmakers, musicians, performance artists, acrobats, DJs, thespians and more perform at the Festival in a three-day feast of music and art. Once again, Sonicbids is partnering with Bumbershoot as the host for all music applicants from British Columbia, Washington State, Oregon and California.

Kanye West, Blondie, The Shins, Wu-Tang Clan, Elvis Costello, Beck, Seal, Spoon, Public Enemy, John Legend, Garbage, Mavis Staples, Death Cab For Cutie, The Killers, Roky Erickson and thousands of others have graced the stages of Bumbershoot throughout the Festival’s 38-year history.

Selected artists will be compensated for their performances.

Any acts from other regions must be solicited by our programming department or be represented by a national agent. If you submit from outside any of these regions, your submission will not be considered and you will not be refunded.
