The 20th Annual City Stages will be held June 13-15, 2008 in downtown Birmingham. With 125 artists playing on eight stages, City Stages boasts a broad range of musical performances including rock, alternative, hip-hop, country, R&B, gospel, classical and singer-songwriter. The festival also features a Children's Festival, arts & crafts and terrific southern food. Last year’s festival attendance was 100,000!
This year's festival will feature a performance by Steve Miller Band and many others, to be announced in the coming weeks. Performers featured at last year's event included Dr John, Earth, Wind & Fire, Ludacris, Pudle of Mudd, Whiskey Falls, Poison, Eric Johnson, Breaking Benjamin, Willy Mason, Hawthorne Heights, Sam Bush, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.
This year, for the first time, City Stages has reserved 3 slots exclusively for Sonicbids artists.
Festival sponsors include Coca-Cola, Miller Lite, Alabama Power, AmSouth Bank and Books-A-Million.
Selected artists will be compensated for their performance.
