Gig Overview

Canadian Music Week is a once-in-a-year opportunity to get your band in the face of over 3000 movers and shakers in the industry. You could be among some of the hottest new independent bands that will hit Toronto. From March 2 - 5, 2005, Toronto's most popular clubs and music halls throw open their doors to industry insiders and the general public to create an electrifying musicfest of discovery. The talented unsigned bands are music to the ears of A&R reps on the lookout for next year's stars. Whether it's the next "big thing" or one of today's hottest concert hit-makers, you'll find what you're looking for at the Festival.

Past years' headliners and featured artists have included: Three Days Grace, Fefe Dobson, Pat DiNizio, Circle Jerks, Jeff Healey, Tegan & Sara, Sloan, Soul Decision, Alannah Myles, Gordon Lightfoot, Great Big Sea, Train, Semisonic, Tom Cochrane, Alanis Morissette, Barenaked Ladies, Fat Boy Slim, Tal Bachman, 54, The Pretenders, Jewel, KC & JoJo, Starsailor, Eagle Eye Cherry, Shawn Mullins and the Ennis Sisters.

All bands will be notified by mail/email in mid-January 2005.

Submit today to be nominated for the Canadian Independent Music Awards ("The Indies")
The spirit and success of independent music is stronger and louder than ever. Hundreds of artists, who don't fit in with the ever-narrowing radio formats, are none-the-less breaking through to a hungry public and winning the support of fans, media and tastemakers across the nation. These artists are honored at the Canadian Music Week Festival (CMW) with the public presentation of the Annual Canadian Independent Music Awards show, simply titled "The Indies".
