“Nice record! I been looking forward to spinning this puppy, and I'm blown away. I promise you I will be playing this a lot. Thanks for making my spring with this terrific music." - Chuck Kruger, Entertainment Director, Maine Lobster Festival

""Wowed the audience""

“Bruce and Jen truly "warmed" the crowd as openers for the Gibson Brothers this past January at the Giltz Auditorium. Their casual style, great songwriting and delivery wowed the audience and won them many new fans. Look for their new CD coming later this year.”
- Gary Peacock, concert promoter

""Wouldn't Let You Off the Stage""

"I want to thank you once again for another unforgettable performance at the Side Door on Friday. Our audience had nothing but praise for your performance, your songs, your voices, your stage presence, everything. You have a lot of fans, as evidenced by the fact that they wouldn't let you off the stage!"

- Isabelle Delage, Side Door Coffeehouse, Montreal, Canada

""Harmonies sound effortless, inevitable""

"With their impressive sound and song-writing abilities, Crossing North deserves to be more than a regional act. Their harmonies sound effortless, inevitable.”
- David Vinopal, Editor and Author, Gibson's Fabulous Flat-top Guitars

""I am in awe""

I really enjoyed the evening. Your music is so uplifting. Your harmonies are great; your recordings each have their own special style. I am in awe of the songs you have each written. Your talents are to be commended and I hope you both pursue more of the same in your future. Thanks so much.
- Shelley Wing, Willsboro Coffeehouse

"Penn State Concert"

Wonderful performance at The Acoustic Brew concert at Penn State. Truly professional, yet extremely personal. - Bob Burlinson

You have a spot at our campfire anytime. - Heather Kennedy

"Utilizing sparse yet highly effective acoustic guitars, mixed with sweet and tender two-part harmonies, CROSSING NORTH offers a fusion of folk, bluegrass, and roots delivered with passion and sincerity."

Singer-songwriters Bruce Lawson and Jen Carter-Kelly first combined their talents in 2001. They evolved into CROSSING NORTH, a duo that respects the past while creating their own unmistakable spare, sweet sound.

They built a reputation for performing traditional, uncontrived acoustic music at coffeehouses, festivals and concerts in the Northeast U.S. and Canada.

Recent highlights include:
Burlington, VT First Night Festival
The Living Room, NYC
Otis Mountain Music Festival (headliners Sam Bush and The Infamous Stringdusters)
Musikfest, Bethlehem, PA
Side Door Coffeehouse, Montreal, Canada four years in a row
Airplay on Vermont and NY Public Radio
Open for The Gibson Brothers at legendary Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs, NY
Open for The Biscuit Burners, Acoustic Brew Concert Series, WPSU Studios, Penn State.
Open for Garnet Rogers, Apple Hollow Musicfest.
Performed in NY, PA, MA, NJ, DE, VT, NH, ME and Canada
Recognized by Dallas Songwriters Association as 2nd Place Winner for "What's Bothering Me" (Jen Carter-Kelly)

Audiences love their close, two-part harmonies. They serve up well-written originals with old-fashioned classics by Patsy Cline, The Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison, and more.

Their first CD, "Late Night Songs" was released in 2004 and features original tunes with guest performances by Eric Gibson (The Gibson Brothers, courtesy Sugar Hill records), Junior Barber (nominated Dobro Artist of the Year eight times by IBMA) and Adirondack folk music legend Roy Hurd.

In 2006 Crossing North released their second CD "Fragile". The duo again featured their songwriting skills and included Doug Knight (banjo) and Skip Smithson (mandolin) on the recording. Both recordings receive local airplay and critical acclaim. Their songs are played regularly on-line at sites including pandora, wholewheatradio, folkalley, moozikoo and others.

Their third CD, "No Time to Rest" was released in August 2009. This mature effort features brand new Crossing North songs, plus a gorgeous cover of Patsy Cline's "I Fall to Pieces". Clearly for Crossing North, there's "No Time to Rest".
