Vancouver based singer/rapper/songwriting twins Dani&Lizzy, formerly known as “Genetics,” have developed an all original “Hip Pop” sound that is entertaining a wide and rapidly growing fan base.
With an eclectic flair and strong rap roots, this refreshingly, original sister act offers up thoughtful lyrics on top of catchy melodies. The charismatic and spirited duo are solidly setting a standard for female singer/rappers everywhere.
Dani&Lizzy have a deep performance resume including shows at festivals such as the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival, Warp Tour , Slam City Jam , Shambhala, and Under the Volcano. Thanks to their seamless fusion of popular genres Dani&Lizzy have been able to showcase their sound in a wide variety of music industry scenes, including sharing the stage with Hip Hop pioneers Naughty by Nature to taking part in a world beat collaboration with a celebrated group of international artists.
Their first release, “Pocket Change” loudly announced these two young women to the Canadian Hip Hop scene. Debuted on the Fresh Coast’s 10-city La Familia Tour, Dani&Lizzy’s second effort “Leaving Neverland” gave the duo’s fans a solid offering of conscious rap on top of catchy hooks.
Next up for Dani&Lizzy is the summer 2009 release “Platinum.” A blend of effervescent pop, energetic dance tunes, love songs, R&B and rap, “Platinum” will cement Dani&Lizzy’s cred and more importantly give music fans exactly what they want — a good time.
