After listening thru all the songs off this new CD my opinion of Darrin Allen's new CD is that he have a superb product on the market. There is several songs on the CD that really peaks out and could have a great potential in radio. Excellent back up by the band, great lyrics in the songs and a very talented singer. This is an outstanding album - excellent writing, superb production, and outstanding vocals. Can't decide which cut is my personal favorite...."Needs A Little Romance", "She's Got A Broken Heart", "The Cowboy Way", "A Broken Heart Won't Kill You" are all worthy. Not a bad song on the CD! "A Broken Heart Won't Kill You" is currently in our playlist rotation. Darrin Allen is definitely ready for the next level...hello, Nashville, are you listening? DARRIN ALLEN
BIOGRAPHY OF A TRUE COWBOY
Born in Pocatello, ID in the arms of a caring and hardworking family; around the rustic beauty of rural life, Darrin Allen had music in his blood from an early age. In church, at family gatherings, at rodeos and in his head filled with melodies.
An electrician by trade, it finally happened: the confidence to leap from his routine and begin singing in public. Not in the work truck, not in the shower, but in public. Response was overwhelmingly positive and some were astonished - “He can sing! I didn’t know he could sing.”
His first record, THE HARDEST JOB, was done in the usual hurryup- and-get-it-done haste of most who discover a talent. Still, it sold 3200 units to friends, relatives and to anyone from the work truck.
A new release, THE COWBOY WAY, features a more involved approach to writing and recording and leans on his own material with help from some of Nashville’s best writers: Hank Cochran, Red Lane, Kirk Roth, Scott Patrick, Tony Stampley and Mark Dreyer.
A 6’4” tall, casual performer, Darrin Allen doesn’t bring a lot of shimmy and shake, just The Cowboy Way.

July 2009, 16th Billboard World Song Contest! Darrin Allen receives Honorable Mention for his song "He Still Knows My Name"
July 19, 2008 - Darrin's song "He Still Knows My Name is selected for Honorable Mention for The Malibu Music Festival Awards for emerging songwriter!
May 2008 - "Needs A Little Romance" hits #1 in Spain and #5 in Norway! (ECMA Charts, May 2008)
March 2008 - Darrin selected as regional finalist in NBC's Nashville Star Competition!
January 2008 - Darrin in Nashville recording his new song, "He Still Knows My Name" with Dixiania Music! Darrin wrote this song with co-writer and friend, Dale Belnap, about his father who recently passed from his long battle with Alzheimers. This song was very difficult for Darrin to sing at first but with time, Darrin was able to share his message about Alzheimers through his heart felt lyrics. The day Darrin recorded this song, his father had passed away at home. He was able to sing this song in front of 500+ friends and family members at his dad's funeral as a tribute to him.
Darrin continues to make top 40 on ECMA CHARTS! (November, December 2007)
