"Music: Rock/Pop (Elle Carpenter)"

"Elle's music has sharpened from child star folkie to wisened rocker in the vein of her heroes: Joni, Bob, and Dar Williams." - Julian Hooper, (journalist) Flavorpill LA

"Fear and Lounging"

?"Elle Carpenter reminds us of a high-pitched male vocalist in a pop-punk band -- but in a good way. It's all in her inflection -- and a set of pipes built for belting. The Vermont-turned-Californian's songs are almost equally divided between soft, acoustic coffee shop tunes and electric pop rock. Carpenter's approach to her lyrics and switching up her tone makes it clear none of the songs are by accident." - Max Plenke, (journalist) Las Vegas Citylife

""The Cabana Club in Hollywood presented music lovers with a new treat as Elle Carpenter released her debut album, The Best.""

"Elle: U-32 grad returns as rock singer-songwriter"

"Elle Carpenter, 'The Best'"

"She pulls it off as well as most who currently dominate commercial airwaves in similar veins. And, hey, the kids seem to dig it. Carpenter makes numerous stylistic jumps throughout the record — albeit all within the pop-rock idiom. And to her credit, “Elle” — all pop divas must have a one-name pseudo-pseudonym, right? — seems comfortable in most all of them, from the rap-rock thing to more conventional power balladry (“It’s Okay (to Know You)”) and straight-ahead rock (“Return,” “The Ones”). That versatility could serve her well, should she ever attract the attention of a Tommy Mottola type. And I, for one, wouldn’t bet against it." - Doug Bolles, (journalist) Seven Days Magazine, VT

Bio

Originally from Vermont, Elle Carpenter has been singing as long as she’s been walking. She spent significant childhood years touring around the country with four siblings and her mother, performing and doing workshops at folk festivals, schools and other events. At age 6 she recorded her first record as one of the "Wee-bops" in Central Vermont. Soon afterwards she recorded again with a group called the Fiddleheads. From age 10 to 16 Elle toured with world/folk music group Village Harmony, traveling around the USA, UK, Canada, Denmark and Germany. In 2009 (after recording her first solo album) she was flown to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to perform at the White Palace Convention Center for a month.

She writes about life experiences – what she is living through or witnessing at the moment, and lives through honesty in words.
