Anderson Road, a classic Southern jam band, hails from the Commonwealth of Kentucky, in Pikeville. They are influenced by such groovy bands as the Allman Bros. and Deep Purple. You wouldn’t know they are a trio, with such full rockin’ songs as “Buffalo”. These boys have some decent vocals, as you can hear in “Sadd Avenue”. “Candle” has that new Southern rock sound that’s emerging.

It was outside on a cool April evening and a crowd of determined fans braved the mid forty degree temperature awaiting the debut performance of Anderson Road. And the band didn't disappoint. After tearing thru a few riffs that fired up the crowds enthusiasm, Anderson Road blazed thru original tunes such as the Hendrix-inspired "Jimi Jam", Free and the popular Buffalo, a simmering instrumental that showcases Tony's prowess for extensive jamming.
Not to be left out, providing the bottom end dynamics, Patrick Owens and Shane Mullins are a formidable groove machine, laying down a tight rhythm bed that not only supports Tony's heroics but also allows them to skillfully distinguish themselves a cut above. - ME: Music Entertainment

Anderson Road was born out of the desire to not feel pressure to play a certain style or format. Founder and guitarist Tony Mullins had been fronting a successful rock band "bigtone" from 1999 until 2005 touring and releasing CD's every year or so. The only problem was despite his efforts bigtone slowly took a musical path decided on by charts and record labels. Slowly realizing the direction bigtone was taking Tony started formulating an idea for a band. A band that didn't worry if a song fit into a format appealing to radio. A band that searched for those moments on stage where band and audience become just a part of the jam.Seeking out like-minded musicians in the small town of Pikeville KY was harder than at first thought. After several attempts and several disappointments Tony called on his brother Shane to help. After only a couple conversations the brothers Mullins agreed to get a band off the ground. Shane moved to KY and the brothers started looking for a drummer. Drummer Renny Hall joined the band in September 2007.
Anderson Road is a tight groove rock band that pays homage to bands like"Jimi Hendrix", "The Allman Brothers" and all the power trios from the 70's through today. Waling solos, tight three piece riffs verging on a progressive jam band sound best describes what Anderson Road strives to bring to the stage every night. For fans of Gov't Mule, Doyle Bramhall II and The Black Crowes, Anderson Road is the road to follow.
