"Band on an Arse"

"Boys In A Band are the most interesting and progressive band currently playing in the Faroes and their set marked the start of the festival proper as the beach stage crowd swelled and danced to their self-monikered cowboy rock. One wore white thermal leggings with the band name across his arse..."

Bio

With one foot planted firmly in modern indie rock ground and the other wobbling about, Boys in a Band look backwards into music history, eclectically mixing that which they see fit into a musical melting pot of well calculated chaos. The reckless and danceable rhythms of revivified classic rock n roll, the weighty and lofty vitality of pre-Elvis black gospel and blues, the epic grittiness of old school country, the bare idealism of hippy protest singing and the flashy groove of seventies cock rock – these diverse and, at times, more than slightly contradictory elements exist in perfect harmony in Boys in a Band's universe, thanks to their utterly infectious and youthful charisma, of which they are brimming.
The band has and is going to play several hot shot festivals since they started playing in September '06 – Roskilde (DK), Iceland Airwaves (IS), EuroSonic (NL), by:Larm (NO), Canadian Music Week (CA) and SXSW (US).
Being experts at finding valuable time between big festival gigs, the Boys just finished recording their debut album in London town with legendary producer Ken Thomas (Sigur Rós, Dave Gahan, M83). The album will be out later in '09 and there's no doubt it will trigger the fastest rolling musical revival since Be Bop A Lula. Amen.

PRESS:
"... The room was packed, and the audience was reveling in the cheese dripping from the stage in the form of Casio tones, Billy Squires-inspired guitar, speedy riffs and thumbs up gestures from the mustachioed lead singer. It was, in a word, awesome, and I was bummed to have only caught two songs." Paste Magazine (Feb 08)

"If you came to Oslo to party, there was only one place to be. Each song boasts frantic tempos and choruses that speed past like A&RS waving cheques at Lykke Li, and their desire to involve the audience in their performance makes them as engaging as any band to have graced a stage in a good long while." - by:Larm Official Magazine (Feb 08)

"They have enough mad energy and rollicking riff-stuffed tunes to ensure they're propelled into the big time in no time." - Daily Star (Feb 08)

"They sound like The Strokes without that crushing pretension ruining it all or Jet with some balls and talent.
Plus, seeing them live, is an experience to say the least." - Clash Magazine (Dec 07)

"A lyrical complexity of the Artic Monkeys variety" - LTD (Dec 07)
