"8 Days A Week"

"Seth Richardson, of Dragon String, has been working on a solo project, switching up the colors of his palette for a softer shade. His debut album, Water Colors, wet-washes every dry corner of the acoustic indie love rock scene, leaving nothing untouched. Songs like "January 13" and "While You Were Sleeping" reveal his hypnotic melodies and longing chants that lightly stroke hues of red and purple across your soul's canvas."

"Seth Richardson..."

"Seth Richardson, as a musician, his tones and words are inspiring and encouraging...making you want to take your own material to another level. As a fan of music, his work is moving and thought-provoking, prompting a catharsis of all that is of self and life. Everyone should take a journey to Sethland...the trip is deep, introspective and worth every minute."
-Patrick Adams, For Stars Falling, Guitarist

Bio

Singer/songwriter/guitarist, Seth Richardson, hailing from Cape Cod, MA, delivers his music with impressionable enthusiasm and genuine emotion. What Seth describes as acoustic indie folk rock, his sound is both powerful and calming. "Hearing Seth play was like finding a $20 bill on the sidewalk," says Mark Nelson of the Maine Songwriter's Association.

Born the second of four, Seth grew up in Marion, MA and has been singing for as long as he can remember. Among his musical icons, he lists Jeff Buckley, Ben Harper, Coldplay and Damien Rice. But he recognizes his mother's father as the musician who most profoundly influenced his music. As a child, he watched and listened to his grandfather play and recalls him as "an amazing everything player...guitar, mandolin, banjo and piano."

Following in his grandfather's footsteps, Seth began strumming guitar at the age of 15. Soon after, he found his voice while attending a drama class at summer camp and then began taking his voice more seriously. Seth credits his drama teacher with teaching him to sing by offering the advice, "Don't try to sing because it is going to sound like you are trying...just let it come out as if you were speaking." He claims it to be, "the best advice I have ever received."

From that turning point, Seth proceeded to become involved with several bands. Simultaneously, he sang in the hardcore/metal band Foundation and played guitar with both Counterpoint, an instrumental metal band, and Sector Seven G. He then founded Dragon String and sang with them until their recent break up.

Currently, Seth is focused on his solo career with his backup band, Mark Alves on drums and backing vocals and Chris Bowers on bass.

Seth is also a featured player at this year's Maine Songwriter's Association Summer Music Festival held September 10th and 11th. He has been given the longest set out of 28 musicians/bands. He is also Sonicbids Spotlight artist from September 5th to the 12th.
