"Singer/songwriter Alistair Blaik Bundale’s performance was mesmerizing"

Singer/songwriter Alistair Blaik Bundale’s performance was mesmerizing. The rise and fall of his voice is full of unexpected moments – from quiet passion to, at points, sheer abandon (“Routine Things”, “Lonely”). Clearly he has fans – what seemed to be the entire bar joined him on “Under the Window”. Alistair credits these 2 monumental moments in his life as drivers of his music – being overwhelmed by music from a very young age singing in various choirs in Nova Scotia where he was raised, including the well-known and prestigious Nova Scotia Provincial Choir – and – major surgery while a high school student which instilled the sense of keeping things in life in perspective. His full-length album “Homestead” is now available. You can find Alistair’s music and more about him at: myspace.com/alistairblaikbundale. - BD Maria Hughes - Toronto Independent Music Awards

Bio

Alistair Blaik Bundale is a singer/songwriter stemming out of the Toronto music scene. He was born in Ottawa, ON and raised predominantly in Pictou County, NS. After many years by the ocean, he yearned for the hustle bustle of the urban landscape. This resulted in his move to Toronto, ON where he settled into residence in the downtown core.

After playing various open mics throughout Halifax and Toronto, he received his first full gig at Free Times Cafe in the winter of 2007. Since then, he has expanded his musical horizon, playing shows at the Crown and Tiger, Renaissance Cafe, Gorilla Monsoon, Cameron House, and C'est What. Future gigs will include a show in London and a show in Kingston.

Alistair Blaik Bundale's music is a mix between many different sounds and artists, propelling the traditional song arrangements and sounds of the past with a fresh twist of modern inspiration and attitude. He has been compared to the likes of Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Dave Matthews, Nirvana, and Ryan Adams. His live shows are a subtle display of dynamic energy, drawing the crowd in and delivering a full aural experience leaving everyone on the edge of their seats, with their backs resting upon the wall in satisfaction.
