They opened like a hurricane, rocking the crowd with their sweet almost europop sounds. You can't really define To The Sea as any one genre, but I'm sure they hear comparisons
between themselves and local favorites Death Cab For Cutie on some of their songs. As I look to how the audience reacts it looks like everyone bobs in time to the music. It seems they've won over the crowd. - www.seattlerepresent.com

The other rock highlight at The Seattle Music Revival was To The Sea, but as previously mentioned they weren't lucky enough to get the big stage at Club Heaven. Given enough space, To The Sea would be striking with its wall of guitars, but at Fuel they were bumping into each other and fighting the problematic sound system that plagued other acts throughout the night. Still, To The Sea gave a strong performance. Their sound mixes melancholy with sometimes sharp, sometimes soaring guitars. While a sports bar isn't the best place to float on a sea of rising tones, certain songs like "Fog" were still exhilarating. They also get extra points with me for being the only band of the night to get wildly loud. - seattleconcerts.com

Textural sounds, intricate song structure, and subtle juxtaposition define Seattle band TO THE SEA. Reunited in 2009 after a four-year hiatus, TO THE SEA consists of lead singer and rhythm guitarist Danny Payne, lead guitarists Brandon Smith and Jon Fickes, bassist George Samaras, and drummer Kyle Kamrath.
Within their limited tenure, TO THE SEA has established themselves as one of the hardest-working bands in Seattle. They’ve toured the Pacific Northwest, headlining such notable venues as Nuemos, The Crocodile, Chop Suey, El Corazon, and the Columbia City Theater. They’ve shared the stage with bands such as Chief, The Globes, Spanish for 100, and The Tender Box. TO THE SEA’s songs have even graced the radio waves on 107.7 The End, who hosted the band at their Local’s Only show.
The band’s first LP Circles, Patterns, and Wires was produced, recorded, and mixed by Eric Corson (Bassist, The Long Winters) at Electrokitty Studios, with additional production from Jack Endino (Nirvana and Soundgarden). Drawing inspiration from Brit pop and psychedelic rock, TO THE SEA seamlessly executes an energetic, unconventional sound that is both comfortingly nostalgic and refreshingly novel.
