"Veilside Proclaims "It's Our Time""

Front man Tony Engel gives a very distinct voice to the band on inspired collaborations like "Little Game" and "Awake". The twin-axe attack of Russ Odean and Jon Badalamenti give Veilside a solid rock feel. And the thunderous rhythm section is held together by Bob "Cabo" Hilton and Ron Thomas. Although they have only recently stepped up to be a force on the local scene, Veilside's "Chapter One" has sold thousands of copies since its' release in June 2008. "Chapter One" has seen the song "Messin Round" featured on Q101, Delta Airlines, and even had a video made for it by the folks at the Opie and Anthony show on XM Radio.
A recent performance at Durty Nellies yielded the opportunity to test out a new arrangement of the Kansas megahit "Dust in the Wind". The song, which was greeted with rave reviews, has already been viewed and shared over 800 times on YouTube in just a few short weeks by the rapidly increasing Veilside fan base! - The Chicago Rocker - May 2010 Edition

"Veilside CD Review"

Young metalheads might scoff at Veilside’s big, polished sound, but the band didn’t record Chapter One for teenagers at Hot Topic. Songs like “Awake” (damn unfaithful women) and “Little Game” also don’t fit Chicago’s current heavy scene, but there’s still an audience out there for well-played and well-sung hard rock. Veilside is proof. (www.myspace.com/veilside)

Bio

Hailing from the suburbs of Chicago, Veilside plays modern  rock in the vein of their primary influences Shinedown  and Blackstone Cherry, alongside the big harmonies of the 80's "hair bands".. The band has developed an avid following, and the band's successes have afforded them the opportunity to move beyond the local bar scene to play bigger venues as a headlining act, as well as open for national acts such as Dokken, Sebastian Bach, Halestorm, and Lita Ford. Their self-produced debut CD "Chapter One" sold over 4000 copies, and garnered positive attention from the press and fans alike. The band raised the bar with their ambitious March 2011 release of "This Time..." produced by Chuck Alkazian (Saving Abel, Slipknot) at Pearl Sound Studios. In 2013, the band found a "home" at Apothica Studios in Batavia, IL where they recorded "Meanwhile..." (2013) and their first acoustic EP, "Intermission" (2015)  In addition to a busy tour schedule, Veilside works with many children's charities as well, and hosts "Breaking the Silence", now in its' 8th year, an annual benefit show that raises money for the autism related causes and has raised over $86,000 since inception. Veilside is a family-friendly and family-oriented band, and has played many all-ages and festival shows across the country. Says lead singer Tony Engel "We're not trying to reinvent the wheel here...Veilside is a form of entertainment and we're competing with many other avenues to be the entertainment vehicle of choice." Veilside won the 7 week 2011 Bandemonium competition from 95.1 WIIL Rock (Kenosha, WI) beating out over 150 bands, and played their biggest show ever - the Rock the Ranch event with heavyweights Hinder, Alter Bridge, Five Finger Death Punch, and 15 other national acts in front of over 15,000 people! The band also won Chicago-based FM station 97.9 "The Loop"'s Battle of the Bands contest in 2015 and played Farm Rock in Atlanta alongside Kix, Slaughter, Great White, Night Ranger, Tom Keifer, and more.
The band's professionalism has also earned the endorsements of several music manufacturers, and Veilside attends the annual NAMM Convention in California each January to support their sponsors. For more information about Veilside, visit the band's website at www.veilsideband.com
