Bio

Ten years ago, when I moved back “home” to Grass Valley, CA from Nashville, I was pretty disenchanted with the music industry. After releasing three records with my band Silage [Essential Records (Zomba/Provident Music)], touring the country opening for Jars of Clay and Third Day, and playing nearly every Christian music festival in the country, my efforts to “make it” had become way too frustrating & personally unfulfilling. So my wife, Andrea, and I decided to move back home to raise a family, get plugged into a good local church, and possibly pursue ministry as a worship leader. At the time, I blamed “the industry” for my circumstances being what they were, but, in reality, the bulk of the blame was mine. I got caught up in the whirlwind of chasing success and lost sight of what living for God was really all about. Since then, by God’s grace, I have been learning to live for His glory and not my own.

Over the last decade, I have been blessed with three wonderful kids, the opportunity to serve in three local churches, and record four worship albums. In August 2009, I joined the pastoral team at Crossroads Church (Grass Valley, CA.) as the Worship Pastor and recently released my latest worship album, “Servant Songs” produced by Brian Steckler. The album features new and familiar songs to the Church, recorded in a uniquely minimalistic yet musically interesting style (ala Jack Johnson/Jon Foreman).

Leading worship at my local church is where God has primarily called me to serve. I look to follow in the path of guys like Matt Redman, Tim Hughes, and Evan Wickham who love to lead their home congregations in worship, write and record songs for the Church-at-large, and occasionally serve at conferences & special events around the world. Thanks for letting me share a bit about myself with you. If I can be of any service to you, please feel free to contact me.

Blessings,

Damian Horne
