Bio

Born and raised in the Bay Area in Northern California, Francie was encouraged from a young age by her father, T. Fredric Jones, who is also a musician and songwriter. She began singing with her father and sister Lillian on the San Francisco open mic scene at the age of 8 in their family band The Outlandish Landsharks (Francie still maintains she came up with the name. No one else vies for this honor).

Inspired by Shawn Mullins's character-rich songs and sultry vocals, the Indigo Girls' keen harmonies, and the Mountain Goats' directness and honesty, at 26 Francie has been songwriting and performing her own works for over 10 years. Her songs explore such topics as the banishment of regret, the periodic existential crisis, and the inexplicable beauty of being alive.

Francie spent 2008/2009 in England, hosting and playing at the Combibos Coffee open mic in Oxford and performing in numerous venues including pubs in London and elsewhere and the Jericho Tavern music room in Oxford. In 2009, she won the Oxfordshire-wide OxFactor competition by performing her song "Love Warriorz." She has also played at the historic Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton, MA.

In addition to her solo musical endeavors, Francie wrote and directed a musical play, "Being Ordinary," which was produced in the '92 Theater at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT (2006) and at the Burton-Taylor Studio in Oxford, England (2007).
