Bio

Singing since the age of six, Aria has always had the art of song flowing through her veins. The daughter of a British mother and an African-American father, she was surrounded by a collection of genres growing up, ranging from Classical to R&B and it was this very exposure that allowed Aria to develop her own unique sound. With admiration for such greats such as Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, Aria soon had what all Singer/Songwriters hope for, an undying work ethic and true devotion to perfecting an individual style that will express her passion.

From starring in school musicals, to being a part of her high school marching band, each performance contributed to Aria’s career. Whether it was when her high school band was chosen to represent the United States at the World Arts Festival in Osaka, Japan or the standing ovations she has received, Aria used each experience as a stepping stone.

Accepted to University of California Santa Cruz in 2000, she began performing on and off campus as well as taking part in community events. In 2002, Aria was recognized as a “Rising Star;” this recognition is given to students who offer their talents for certain events that involve the community.

Throughout four years of academia Aria stayed devoted to her studies. In June of 2004, she graduated with honors from U.C. Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Sociology. That same year, Aria was discovered and signed to Imerge Records, an independent label based in San Pablo, California. Soon afterwards she began writing and working on what has now become her hit single “At What Expense;” which displays her unique sound of R&B Pop and Soul. In addition, the CD features two bonus tracks “Make Me Stay” and “Broken Wings”. An interesting fact about one of these bonus tracks is that Aria wrote “Make Me Stay” in the 9th grade; this gives us a slight insight into her remarkable songwriting skills. Passionate about the music that has defined her greatness, Aria is ready to show the world the amazing talent she has to offer.
