"Classic Storyteller"

"Larry Potts is a classic storyteller and vagabond humorist singer whose songs strike deep and clean to the heart of the matter--he is a bright light, fully capable of setting your couch on fire!"

--Frank Hayhurst, "Face the Music"
KRSH 95.9 FM Santa Rosa, CA. - KRSH 95.9 FM

"Big Fan of Larry's Music"

"I'm a big fan of Larry's music. His writing is honest and real fresh. He has that thing you can't quite put a finger one, that X-factor--that no matter how hard you try, you can't teach someone."
Steve Seskin, hit songwriter,
Largo Vista Music - Steve Seskin Hit Songwriter

"Master Craftsman of Songs"

"Larry is a master craftsman of songs. He has a visual and literate storytelling style that is heartfelt, honest, and inspiring." - Argus-Courier Newspaper

"Fulfilled and Nurtured"

" Larry's songs honor real people and history incorporating humor and life's suffering. A Larry Potts
concert will leave you feeling more fulfilled than atending a movie, and more nurtured than going to a fancy restaurant."
--Matt Kramer, Independent Music
Promoter, Ordinary Miracles - Ordinary Miracles

"Folk Concert Series"

"Larry was the reason we started the Petaluma Folk Concert Series. He played four times to crowds of 60-90 people, pulling fans in amid concerts by the likes of Steve Seskin, Lorin Rowan, Nina Gerber.
When I heard his award-winning song "The Ballad of Poker Alice" at the Rocky Mountain Folk Festival in Colorado I knew we had to find a place for him."
--Barbara Arhon, folk music

Bio

Larry Kenneth Potts has built his reputation as a multi-award winning singer-songwriter by wiinning and placing in a number of
International song contests and by delighting audiences with his
James Taylor-like baritone voice, inventive and provactive lyricism, and stellar guitar work.

In the winner's circle of major song contests like the John Lennon, Unisong, Artists for Literacy (SIBL) compilation disc (with Tom Waits, Steve Earle, Roseanne Cash, David Bowie and Vicky Randle), the Great American Song Contest, Kerrville New Folk, Tucson Folk Festival, West Coast Songwriters (Song of the Year) and five WCS category winners, (folk, Americana, and humor), Music2Life Songs for Social Change (XM Radio play)
as well as 2010's nomination for "Best Male Artist" by the International Acoustic Music Awards and WCS Americana winner, he shares space on the "Winners" Compilation Disc for
West Coast Songwriters with Sara Bareilles and others.

In 2009 Larry was selected as a Far West Folk Alliance Premiere Showcase Artist in Los Angeles.

His songs have been picked up consistently by A&R Music industry reps from Nashville and Los Angeles, and he has one
song on contract in Hollywood with both Dreamworks (Marcus Barone) and Disney Seven Summits Music.

His musical influences range from James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot and John Denver to Peter, Paul and Mary, and the Chad Mitchell Trio, as he toured the Northwest in his college years. Crosby, Stills, and Nash and the Eagles, as well as country stars like Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson and Tim McGraw are strong models in style and substance.

What sets him apart is his ability to deliver story songs with power and meaning, every word clear to the listener, so that
each tune becomes a statement to show some element of the human condition. He has that relaxed, yet focused delivery
that draws the audience in, like a good conversation. These are highly professional offerings and have that quality of authenticity which led Steve Seskin, hit songwriter, to say:

"I'm a big fan of Larry's music. His writing is honest and real fresh. He has that thing you can't quite put a finer on, that x-factor, the imagination and word play and knack for storytelling
that no matter how hard you try, you can't teach someone."
